Sometimes I'll make my own puff pastry, but at the price of butter, it's cheaper and, at the end of the day, far less faff to buy a block. It's one of the few kitchen cheats that I do use.

A bit of rain in the morning but otherwise just occasional showers. Got the car cleared of of the junk which accumulates but still a lot of heavyish bags to take with me.
Weather forecast seems to change by the hour and tomorrow is saying hail showers but bitterly cold for my morning trip and very likely some ice in bits which most local drivers know about.
A neighbour who is going to a funeral has just got to go to the ferry terminal, give a sob story and hope for the best. We agree on the terrible antisocial holiday home and she had a go at the last lot for blocking our parking.
Much local anger about the ferry situation but not much we can do about it. Even the staff comment that the system is a shambles and the mystery of the strange text message remains unsolved. It told us that due to changes the ferry would sail at the time given on the published timetable.

It's crazy how things go screwy and knock you for six as a result. A handful of decent prints off a roll of film is pretty well much par for course IMHO... I have *SO* many photos of half a race car or a cat's bum, you wouldn't believe LOL

I have gone digital, for this reason. Although my digital SLRS and street camera still use CCD sensors, which do tend to give a more film-like result. Olympus E 500, Pentax K10D, and Canon G9. Portraits do look better on the older sensor. I do have Micro 4/3 Panasonics with CMOS sensors, but I do not like the results as much with most of my work, although they do industrial and transportation a bit better.
