I wound my watch.

Think its time for another espresso, then out to the garage to install half clips on the touring bike.

Exciting day so far.
Wakened at 0600 by flashing orange lights and had a look out. Whiteout.
I usually allow 45 minutes to get to the ferry so thought best to double that. Rush around and off at 0830. Decided to go initially down to the Main St and then uphill on a road likely to have been gritted.
Had to wait at the foot of the uphill while various cars and vans reversed cautiously back having failed to make it up.
Let a car have a gap of a few minutes and set off up. They were stuck halfway but since there was nothing coming down I sailed past on the way up. Strange none of the vehicles I have had gave any trouble with bad road conditions.
Top of the hill I expected well gritted road. It probably had been but there had been more snow and not enough traffic so it was very icy with rutted hard packed snow under but keeping speed and gears in sync. little trouble for the first 10 miles and then conditions improved a lot.
Ferry very busy and when arriving in Oban greeted by sunshine so got out to destination and loaded my ICE trike in case Wednesday is wet.
Tomorrow may be able to get a trike run before home again on Thursday.
Shopping for mainly food so my wallet will be quite a bit lighter by then.
