Good morning all. Judging by the outside sounds while I was lying in bed earlier, the bin has been emptied and needs to be put back round the back of the house. In a rare break from the normal, we have clear skies and bright sunshine which means the planned trip to Cambridge for a bike ride into the countryside is on.

Had to manually advance the analogue European time signal clock last night. So far it has stayed put, was half expecting to see it had reverted to GMT. Just deep spring cleaned my bedroom and found a pound coin^_^

Imp? I had a California Imp (fastback?). Later on, I had a Hillman Hunter.

I'd love an Imp. I always thought they were a lovely car and less of an obvious choice than the Mini.

The Rootes group car that always sticks in my mind is the 1970s Sunbeam Rapier Fastback, basically a Hunter Coupe, and very glitzy and glamorous with pillarless doors and typical Rootes detailing iirc.

The reason I remember is due to an old friend of the family having one when I was young but he had fitted a Perkins diesel engine from an old forklift or something. It was extremely noisy, extremely slow and extremely smokey. It was green originally but the back half of the car was black due to soot! The starting procedure involved a helper opening the bonnet to spray Easy-Start into the air intake. It was very economical apparently, so long as you weren't in a hurry.

You do see Hunters around but I genuinely can't remember when I last saw a Rapier. They're extremely rare now.

My dad had an Imp. Total piece of junk. It spent more time broken down than being driven.

A bright and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit a bit of a chilly one.

Slept so-so after another "too hot, too cold" malarkey in the wee hours. Have had a quiet morning. One of the tasks however, was dosing each furry madam with a dose of flea treatment. I thought I'd got that under control, but I saw a "passenger" on Madam Lexi last night...

This afternoon's plans involve doing some writing, making a fresh pot of soup and having a friend pop round to pick up her share of my yellow sticker bargains.

It is almost time for luncheon.

Nice afternoon dog walk, once home found out that the little bag I carry in my pocket with dog bags and dog biscuits in. Had fell out my pocket. So once I'd settled the dog at home I doubled back and found it down the road.
Once home again thought I'd check the rat trap at the bottom of garden. Not been touched for weeks it has now the little sod has not just touched it , but walked off with it. No trace of it can be found.
