murky day, glad I changed my car's wiper blades
I have just found a Wacom Bamboo pen &touch in our loft . It says Windows 7 on it . Is it still possible to use it or is it just good as a paper weight?
Is that the one with the drawing tablet?
If so, I have an earlier one of those - circa 2003/04. It was an (expensive) birthday present from a very gadgety university friend of mine, but I think I only ever used it twice. I prefer to use an actual pencil or pen.
Why is there a noxious pong in here? Has someone just ridden through a sewer?
Yes same here! They seemed to get theirs to work on Time Team . Mine was a case of what's it doing ?![]()
Trouble when relatives etc get an idea in their head over what present you would like. Have an awful clock that is buried in the loft that even if it was nice to look at is far too big for anywhere sensibly for it and which cost far too much for what it is. Somehow doubt it will come out of the loft in one piece..It cost him north of £200 BITD, and that sort of money buys an awful lot of books...

Oh, it worked well enough, especially when teamed up with Photoshop. But the tablet only has an 6x4 inch-sized "active" surface, which pretty well much makes it useless for anything more than basic doodles / photo editing. And the pen wasn't very nice to use, either. Which is why mine has been sat in the box, unused, for the last 19 years or so.
I received some pretty pants presents when I was younger, mainly cheap tat from my dad's friends and acquaintances, but this one gets filed in the same category due to the fact that it's been nothing other than an expensive dust trap.
Never had the heart to tell him I've only ever used the damn thing twice. I wish he'd asked me before buying it as a present, because I'd have told him not to bother. It cost him north of £200 BITD, and that sort of money buys an awful lot of books...
I still prefer to work with a touchpad when it comes to editing / restoring photos, as I find I have much more control.

An ugly clock is still not too bad, because you can always re-case the movement and use the rest for firewood.![]()
I've changed the filter in my water filter jug.
