You know it's going to be a bad day at work when the first words you hear are not "Welcome back, the kettle's just boiled" but "Thank goodness you're here, can you give us a hand with this". One of the major systems for clearing EU traffic 'fell over' on Sunday and created the sort of chaos you'd expect (not as bad as Harwich/Dover/Eurotunnel but we also have large volumes of non-EU traffic to deal with). This is the 2nd time this year it's broken since it was given an refresh at the start of the year. Given the first time was due to an external linked database being updated which wasn't accounted for in the refresh, the rumours that the problem this time was the refresh not accounting for the change to British Summer Time putting it out of sync with another processing system were very credible.

Lovely supper of sweet potato, red lentil & coconut soup, then a haddock & tartare sauce fishcake in batter, home made triple cooked chips and carrots & peas. 
The carrots were the fancypants multicoloured heritage varieties. The purple ones had little in the way of flavour, the orange ones tasted just like ordinary carrots, but the yellow ones were bloomin' lovely. Wish I could buy those on their own.
