So much for a quiet evening...
Got a bit stormy a little while ago, and one of the conifers in the hedge got skittled. It took out a fence panel and was in serious danger of taking out the bathroom window and the guttering just above it. So muggins had to get changed into her gardening clothes and do a spot of unplanned lumberjilling.
Managed to drop the tree safely thank goodness, as it was leaning very drunkenly. Looking over the ex-fence, I could see that the whole root ball has lifted out of the ground. Ooops.
Haven't cleared it up, though, that's for another time. But I'd rather have to deal with the resulting mess of felling a tree than with a set of potentially much more expensive problems that I might be unable to solve myself. Especially since the forecast for tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday are looking particularly stormy.
Just had soup and a sandwich for supper. Too tired for anything else now.
