Another day catching up on jobs after spending much of yesterday visiting Mrs 73's very close friend inc having a meal with me providing cake She's her former manger they worked closely together and share the same clinical values. Over time she's now become one of the family. Her now husband is high up in Yorkshire cricket so i've always got plenty of company.

So today has been shopping for a few extra things for Mrs 73's Birthday and A few jobs round the house. Finally the new charger for the van has arrived. So started to make head way with getting the van ready hopefully for the 1st trip out at the weekend. Just have to see how it go's. I've still to replace the sink tap which won't be easy as i've little room in the under the sink locker.

Mostly dry despite the dire forecast but it has now started raining in earnest. Very cold still.
Did get a little garden work done in preparation for planting out later. So far only lupins and poppies but nasturtiums will come later. I am trying to get anything which will reseed to save me the bother but seed sellers are keener on annuals which means buying seed every year.
When out looking at the world I met a couple of Baha'is who were part of a colony here in the 1970s and 1980s but all have now drifted away.
An unusual sight passed when I can back home. A tandem pushed by one person but the stoker was not there. I noticed he continued pushing on foot rather than riding even after reaching the top of the hill.
Not seen a tandem for years. we did have one in the distant past but did not keep it long.
I remember that our first trial run was a bit of a problem with steering as my wfe kept trying to steer the thing and also leaning the wrong way

Congratulations to the Scots for becoming world champions.

Some at least of the media are not too keen on that and refer to team GB instead. BBC Scotland pretends it never happened.

I can't comment on BBC Scotland as I haven't looked at it but the main BBC Sport site down here consistently used Scotland and never mentioned Team GB.

Alarm bells cancelled
