Good morning.

Another interview today.

Photos of steam lorries always welcome. I remember a Foden steam lorry on solid tyres getting well and truly bogged at a vintage rally in a rather boggy field many years and the efforts needed to extract it again. Industrial Fordson E27N with a large winch to the rescue after attempts to tow it with a traction engine and an MF590 failed. There were none of the enormous modern tractors around here then. It would have been an interesting video but camera phones were somewhere in the future.

Off on my travels today but will put a couple of photos up sometime soon.

The sun is shining and looks like another nice start to the day outside.
Tea is brewing
Hoping for a less frantic day

Dull morning so far with spots of rain.
Last evening I saw a ferry heading up the Sound but my app tells me it is the Hebridean Princess heading for anchorage in Bloody Bay. Sheltered but no view of the sunset which the punters would appreciate.
This was our old ferry Columba which was on when we came here 50 years ago or thereabouts and sold on as it was a side loader with a lift from the pier so very slow loading but now converted to a mini cruise liner.
This led me on to contemplating the difference in life here from 50 years ago.
We came to a vibrant community with lots going on and in summer beach events were popular, even dances outdoors on MacBrayne's pier. Now it is different and the community spirit has not completely died but there are so many who have come here to make money [they hope] from the infestation of the touroid with little interest in anything else.
They call it progress or mebbe just old age and nostalgia.

I think it is the greed culture!

We were incensed by what my wife read about a proposed idea for the Island Park in our town . The island is a grass park with trees , it used to be an island when the river used to pass on either side of it . Some Richard Head wants to pave over it saying that it could be used by market traders . There is already an existing place if only they did something to improve it .

They paved Paradise and put up a parking lot...

Morning.
I'm aching all over! I was crawling around underneath my Jag yesterday trying to do an oil change . I was cussing Jaguar for using long threaded bolts which will rust over time . Short ones are less prone to cause problems as there isn't thread protruding which tends to rust .
Some Gorilla had done up the oil filter! I couldn't shift it ! I had to go out and buy another tool to try to remove it . Even then I ended up using a wrench to tighten it up before it would shift.
