Out of interest, will you throw the cake away after taking a picture?

Second interview complete.

Slightly thrown at the start when I found I had a three person interview panel.

Even more thrown when I realised that one of them was a former colleague; we worked together in another organisation and generally supported each other because the organisation had some very strange ideas and we couldn't find anyone else with a sense of humour.

My contract in that particular organisation wasn't renewed because I "Didn't fit the concept"; an appraisal I took as a complement. Turns out my colleague didn't fit the concept either. After the interview he told me that my replacement left two months after I did, having first given the boss a detailed list of reasons the organisation was absolute pants. I would have loved to have been in the building when that conversation happened.

It's been a completely dry day here chez Casa Reynard.

Overslept massively (oops!). Spent the morning catching up with various tasks including re-jigging the fridges and sorting out the last of the weekend's shopping.

Filet americain on toast for luncheon, along with an apple, a tangerine, some raspberries and two :cuppa:

Was supposed to meet up with a friend for a walk this afternoon, but she cancelled last night on the basis of today's forecast. Of course it didn't rain at all - the showers and thunderstorms missed us completely, and so it will probably pish it down on Monday, which is when we rearranged the walk for. So I took advantage of the lack of precipitation to cut the grass around the house again. It looks so much more tidy, and now the forget-me-nots can grow without being choked by grass and nettles.

Now enjoying a nice :cuppa:

I'm getting fed up with this rain forecasting. I've twice postponed a trip when the rain turned out to be a no show.

Nice sunny day again but in Oban area this time. A85 pretty busy but traffic in the town was not too bad.
Been up since 5.30 this morning so pretty knackered but I did get on as a standby on an earlier ferry than booked. Since the staff know me and we always have a friendly joke or two it seems to smooth out some potential problems.
Loads to cart into the house and sort out. Spent what seemed like an enormous amount on foodstuff.
Why is it that the lane I am in on the boat is always last off? Very annoying particularly coming home as I have to fight my way to near the front before the single track starts as then the 40mph brigade go down even further and the last 10 miles takes forever. Fortunately I got a fast and assertive local driver in front and we got on not too badly once a towing caravan had been persuaded to pull over to let us past. Handy having somebody else doing the work.
Ferry bookings are a lottery these days and some people are seriously out of pocket having their bookings cancelled.
Son's house is in chaos as they are getting new windows and a new kitchen fitted. He was busy fettling a bike he brought home from Taiwan to do a sportif from Oban before he goes back. Seems a bit mad carting a bike back and forward every month in a substantial box he bought for the purpose.
