Ride It Like You Stole It!

Luverly in North Wales. Quick 23 miles on back lanes this morning, and a dart through Rhyl, which was rather busy.

A cool and grey day here chez Casa Reynard, with a bit of light drizzle hanging in the air.

Slept well, but had some very ummmmm dreams. Anyways, went into town this morning on the hunt for this year's supply of triffids. Not a great deal choice on the market or in the shops, either super expensive or almost sold out. But managed to source two beefsteak, two tumbling tom, a moneymaker, a shirley and two alicante for £6.30 all in.

Not much luck on the parsley / sage / basil front, so left that for another day. I can get parsley and basil in Tesco if needs must. Most places only seemed to stock rosemary, mint and lavender. Except Waitrose, but they want a fiver for a not-terribly-big pot.

Had a lovely luncheon of filet americain on toast, an apple, an orange and two :cuppa:

Now just having a fairly quiet afternoon.

Another nice sunny day so got the shorts on for first time this year. I used to wear shorts from April to the end of October with longs only for formal occasions if a kilt would not do.
I notice on my last foray off island that there were a lot of very white spindly legs on display.
My legs still seem to have the remnants of last year’s tan so not unrespectable and before you remark on it yes I do wash them regularly along with the rest of me.
Sat in my sheltered corner in the garden/wilderness where I fell asleep for an hour.
In the morning got the library at last and some minor shopping as the street apart from the bit in front of the coop was quite civilised. Still no eye drops but some similar formulation is promised for next week. They say that every week and there are constant supply difficulties.
Spent some time sifting through old photos and found one of our Head Girl looking much more urbane than the bedraggled person I posted a photo of earlier.
I seemed to spend more time in her company than my wife's sometimes but I did have a very strict rule for myself. Hands off the female staff and no amorous approaches. Seemed to work tho’ some people in the trade shows were a bit confused as we sometimes behaved like a long married couple if business required both of us.

Just been enjoying the sunshine and spending a few hours in the garden. No big jobs just a bit of light weeding still way too wet for much else. Very few weeds really since lockdown it's been easy to keep them in hand. Had a fight with a long dead ivy in a very large container next to front door. Once out and soil topped dressed I replaced it with a Magnolia. Then weeded and tried up area round the pond it's more a wildlife pond than anything else. So it was just was just a matter of keeping things in check. Noticed the blanket weed was a bit out of control so cleaned that out. left at the edge of pond in case anything needs to escape. Thought we'd lot the newts but spotted one swimming around.
Now got the cricket on and having:cuppa:
