I was sort of hoping that this thread would be full of reports about malfunctioning technology. But it seems to be just me.
Using Google maps for a 20 minute journey from Greenwich to the hinterlands of Welling this morning, I got 3/4 of the way there and then Google decided to give me directions to Land's End. Neither I nor passenger could trace anything we'd said that might have been interpreted as a voice command, which, by the way, I don't use.
Then later in the afternoon, I got phoned by a number - it turned out to be a number in Texas - which, when I answered it, connected me through to my mother in Greenwich. And she wanted to know why I'd called her. Indeed, that was what I wanted to know as well. So how does a third party manage to phone and connect 2 different numbers simultaneously?
Even odder, the sun came out and it turned into a gentle, warm afternoon.
