Having only partly recovered from last weekend's 600km audax, I'm doing a hillclimb this evening. Sensibly the organiser has put me off early, with the slow ones on road bikes rather than TT bikes / fast road bikes. I entered because he'd hardly anyone else entered a few days prior to closing and he really tries hard to get people to take part.

I'll be the one trundling up Cragg Vale this evening wondering why my legs aren't working

I think you are a Crag Vale coiner and claim my Gold Sovereign

Cloudy start but turned out another nice sunny day.

Checked my bank account and noticed a payment I could not make tally with anything so tried the bank who said it looks like a credit card. Then I did what I should have done earlier and found my last credit card statement.
Doh, it was indeed the credit card. First time I have not been able to id all payments so must be getting gaga.

Spent a bit of time on nostalgia and made a collage of pictures with my late wife. Nearly 8 years now since she died but still fresh in my memory.

Tomorrow the local garage will pick up my car early and take it down for a service but not sure whether to take the trike out first or mebbe just leave it in the car. The car runs ok but I detest things which do not work 100% so better to give it the full works as a preventive measure. It will also get everything checked over as I do not want any nasty surprises when the Mot comes round in a couple of months.

Had a lovely lunch of a bagel filled home made gravlax, a banana, a nectarine, some strawberries and two :cuppa:

Made that small batch of orange & strawberry marmalade. Had to make sure the oranges were thoroughly cooked, so while they simmered away, I sat in the sun and read for a bit. Have to say, the result is tastier than I expected, and not as sweet.

Time to feed the cats, and then it will be time to feed me.

Just had a conversation with Beautiful Daughter, who has the attention span of a heavily caffeinated Jack Russel puppy. Apart from anything else she's been given a dress by a larger friend which had pretty flowers and frilly bits so she was very excited because it flows about when she danced.

I don't know what they were called, but do you remember those toys with a sucker and a spring? You would press them on a surface and after a short time the spring would overcome the sucker and they'd shoot up in the air. That's Beautiful Daughter in conversation; she'll ask a question and you've got about 3.43 seconds before the spring goes and she's onto something else, like the neighbours tree, or her new dance move she's learning, or a book she happens to look at.

It's great fun as long as you accept you're a spectator and enjoy the show...

Fun pack morning a student having a panic attack then another one being sick all over the place.
More Admin keeps coming our way too which use to be extra now seen as 2 jobs for price of one.
Then to top it off we've been told off for Blu Tacking stuff on walls. That must be the stuff that needs to be on wall re exam regs.
Oh well when the inspector comes just have to tell them management don't like stuff on walls.

About to get the news after an inspector called.
IMO, the O process is a really rubbish way if managing any organisation.
I think all bins are equal- but some are more equal than others…

Well more the free and unalienable right to every individual to have a bin of whatever colour they choose.

Not sure depends on what and who are inspecting. In terms of exams it’s one of the only ways to keep centres on the ball. They are all unannounced and only way to check to things are what they say they are. You can’t quickly knock up a lockable exam store when the inspector is not looking.
Mrs 73 has had plenty of experience of CQC she’s both worked with them to get bodies to be a regulated providers and worked on inspection standards for them. Always find them to helpful even when as a manger of a nurse lead detox unit they turned up for an unannounced inspection at 2 in morning.
