On the early morning dog walk on Sunday I came across 3 people that had been sleeping out under a bed sheet.
Complete with what was left of a fire on he grass in the rose garden. Todays dog walk the sheet has been upgraded to a small tent.
On his afternoon walk as we walked in to the park I came across the head of park friends maffia. Though she was checking out reports Turns out she was unable to find anything so asked me showed her the place and about it going on since the weekend. It's all gone to parks service see what happens. But they are back tonight and yet again will find them in morning. Only the other week a large group set up a BBQ and left a right mess.

Temp outside currently 30.3C so back indoors where it is cooler.
Went down to the marina earlier and had long chat with a slightly eccentric local artist. He has an ongoing project taking photos from behind them of people at the the bench seats who are looking towards the town. Not sure yet what he is going to do with them but some inspiration will spring up.
Had a seat myself looking out to the bay and sat watching the world go by until the seat got too uncomfortable. They must be designed that way as it cannot be accidental that you cannot linger there due to the discomfort.

Car windows are down so must remember to go out and lock up when it cools down a bit. Car theft is virtually unknown here but it is not unknown to have vehicles ā€œ borrowedā€ to get the 10 miles home when the pubs shut.
One guy came out of the pub in Dervaig and got into his he thought car and drove home. When he arrived he could not get into his driveway as his car was blocking it. Doh!. Same make and model.
My wife almost did something similar with our Bedford Rascal but realised in time it was not our van as it was too untidy.

We went down to the opticians this morning . It is a good job my wife came with me as they put some stuff in my eyes to dilute them . Things are still a bit blurry at the moment . The other day after a cycle ride I thought that I had something in one as I could see a dark green floater in my vision . It turns out to be a posterior vitreous detachment.

It would have been so they can check you didn’t have a retinal detachment. They did it to me a couple of years ago. My god it was bright when I went outside. , lucky I had my sun glasses with me and had walked there. Weird having the pupils dilated like that.

29 deg C in Leeds:heat:

Which is surprising because when we left for a short break on Thursday morning it was 11 degs C

Started off sunny and scorchio here chez Casa Reynard, but how it's just overcast and pretty humid.

Slept surprisingly well. Spent the morning going through part of a stash of Waitrose recipe cards that I've accumulated over the last 25 years or so, deciding which ones to keep and which ones to pass on to a friend. Also did a load of laundry.

Had a lovely luncheon of two slices of wholemeal toast, one with silesian sausage (highly recommended from the Polish aisle), one with herby cream cheese, plus an apple, a pear, some raspberries and two :cuppa:

Spent the afternoon in the garden puttering about. Repotted the sage I bought on Friday, and the final two triffids (beefsteak) went into their respective planters. Also spent some time reading and watching the cats mooching around under the mulberry trees.

Now sat down with another :cuppa:

Sat outside in the sun listening to Yorkshire v Derbyshire and reading The Triumphant Arch, a book about Wilford Rhodes.
A true Yorkshire cricketing giant played the most games , none took more wickets or batted more often. The war robbing him of even more his last of 32 England appearances he was 52 and a granddad. His 1st game he bowled to Grace his last to Bradman. His life spanned so much he'd played or seen them all. A colossus of bat and ball but above it all he stayed a very down to earth and humble man.
If we have someone of even a 10th of is ability now we'd be flying high not in the mess we are now.
