I decided to escape the boy racers and enjoy the good weather and my last day off work. I sat in a shady corner of one of "my" beaches and read and consumed some snacks.

It was smashed in countless different places by a Berlingo and then cut open and screwed back together again by a surgeon.

It ain't perfect but it works.

Actually pleasant enough outside this evening to walk to the post box without overheating etc. It was 10pm.

Had a lovely luncheon of two slices of wholemeal toast, one with serrano ham, the other with herby cream cheese, then an apple, an orange, some raspberries and two

Watered all the planters, then tootled off into town. No tomato plant-specific fertilizer to be had anywhere, bar some tiddly overpriced bottles in Waitrose. Did pick up a lamp for the parental in Wilkinsons along with some spare E14 bulbs. Needed a lamp with a weighted base, as the cats like to perch on the bedside table.

Bought tomatoes and a cucumber in Tesco, as well as some blueberries and apricots on sticker. Got lucky in there with some organic fruit & veg feed. A dearth of garden fertilizers generally, and they've gotten spendy compared to last year. I guess we have Comrade Putin to thank for that one...

Popped into Aldi on the way home for a large block of cheap cheddar for cooking / cheese toasties, and also snaffled a pack with two venison burgers on sticker in there.

A chicken salad sandwich and a for supper.

Now just chilling out while surfing the internet.

Time to go to bed I suppose, although it's probably too hot and humid to sleep.

I'm back in gaol work tomorrow.

You should come over here - the wind is still coming in off the North Sea so it's nice & cool.

I'm off to the Suffolk coast today and I've been looking at the forecasts - it's a good 10C cooler than in London. I'm wondering what clothes to wear.
