A pattern to our weather seems to be emerging.
Pouring rain and strong winds in the morning but by early afternoon turns out dry and the wind dies away.
Still not been able to get out on the trike tho' as I was going to try one of the forestry roads I used to cycle on two wheels but the heavy rain means the surface gets very gloopy and not good for cycling. It also makes a mess as everything gets covered in mud. I prefer not to get the electric assist wet and muddy.
The roads should not be too bad but that seems to be unpredictable and with increasing touroid numbers is not going to improve.

Calmac have introduced several new quirks. If you miss a boat your ticket is cancelled and you lose your money. The check in time remains at 30 minutes before sailing but there is now a check in opening time of 2 hours. If you try to amend your booking after check in opening you are told the ferry is full even if there is plenty of space.
For foot passengers the only way is to wait till you get to the port and then get a ticket but vehicles have to try to get the port of departure on the phone as the only answer so far.
I very often get an earlier boat than I booked so no idea if that will work now. I may just have to find somewhere to park and waste time till I can check in.
Life gets more complicated by the day.

One down ~ eleven to go 👍

It's been blustery and scorchio here chez Casa Reynard today.

Slept well, then sorted out some chores and fed my tomato plants before tootling off to Tesco for the Sunday afternoon lurk. Quite a lot of folks in skimpy clothes in there, sporting the "lobster" look. That's going to be painful...

Luck was middling, as green bins, bread / bakery and the fruit & veg were a total bust. I only got markdowns in the chilled section. Basically, a LOT of stuff went out the back, but most of it didn't come back. Still, I didn't do too badly.

Picked up two packs of prawns, a pack of two wagyu burgers, a pack with four "finest" quarter pounders, a tray of beef mince and, Mr Punch's favourite, two dozen Newmarket sausages. Hope there's not a crocodile in the vicinity...

When I got back, I sat in the shade in the garden with a :cuppa: and a good book.

Homemade veggie pizza for supper, and the last of the plum crumble.

Just plan on having a nice, quiet evening.

At least it didn't get as far as my former neighbours - I was lying on the bedroom floor looking for something under the bed when I saw a whiskered face looking at me :surrender:

Hah!

A neighbour's former half-Siamese used to come in, eat the girls' food, piddle on the furniture and break into my greenhouse to help himself to the catnip. A right little sod!

OTOH, I used to have a cat who used to go and visit another neighbour. He'd wait outside their front door, singing the song of his people until he was let in. He'd eat their cat's food, use his litter tray and keep them (and the three kids) company while they ate their breakfast. When they moved out, he did the same with the next lot of neighbours. Except they didn't have a cat LOL.

sad day today. Daughter took her bike back to her apartment where she lives with her boyfriend. who is going to tune it up every year?

I sent her off w/ one spare tube & 1 tire lever. good luck kid :headshake:

she says there's a great paved rail trail near them & she wanted it. I should be happy & proud ...

she also took her winter car tires, after the regular tires got swapped on & an oil change near us. then off she goes to live her own life. I should be happy & proud ...

stoopid kids
