Garden birds have been fed unusually quiet bird wise this morning.

It was sad to hear the news that Fiona Phillips has the early stages of Alzheimer's. I thought she was a really good presenter and very good at interrogating people.

The lack of rain lasted until I had walked to the end of the street on my morning perambulation and then the heavens opened.

I just needed to reboot my laptop. I left it on sleep/hibernate last night but when I woke it up again this morning, it had forgotten that it was supposed to do the internet.

Dry so far but showers forecast for later.
Need to go into Oban for some shopping to save time tomorrow morning when I only have frozen stuff to get.

Ferry failure yesterday was due to a faulty sprinkler system but they eventually got it fixed for the 2200 from Oban.
Apparently one Norwegian ferry company is refusing to carry hybrid vehicles as they are not confident of dealing with any fire they may cause. Very difficult to extinguish such fires apparently.
I am due to travel on a different ferry anyway but it does not fill me with confidence nowadays.

If no rain may get out on trike later but strangely do not feel any problems after doing a longer distance than usual yesterday. I had expected stiff legs but I must be getting fitter.

I've just been given a virtual trophy for being here for 8 years. I will have to get my virtual Pledge and duster out and clean the rest of them.
It's amazing how much virtual dust can gather over the years!

Aaaaargh! I want to use Paypal for something, but I can't get into my account. Haven't used it in ages. Verification needs to come through a mobile number, but I've a new number after falling out with Virgin and moving to Tesco mobile, and I'm being sent round in circles.

I can't verify my account because I've not got the number I registered it with, and because I've got a new phone number, I can't get into my account to change it.

Easy to be wise after the event, I know, but why didn’t you take your existing number with you?

I've just noticed that my TV controls have Braille writing on them.

Saw a cyclist getting busted by a pedal cycle officer for 2 consecutive red lights at the Elephant and Castle on my way in to work. I don't like seeing anyone getting into trouble but sometimes it is really hard to have any sympathy.

A belated good morning from a bright, breezy and (for the morning commute at least) cool Suffolk. Only just made coffee number 2 of the day as it's been another of those mornings. The goods news is that it's already past the halfway mark for the working week and Friday looks to be good weather so I've booked cycle space for a return trip to Diss for a ride in Norfolk and lunch/drinks out.
