I did a computer programming course in 1969 ish. We had to write a flow chart and create (I can't remember how) punch cards that got fed into a slot in a big cabinet.
It clicked and whirred before producing a result (if you were lucky 🍀)

Were they punched or just marked in pencil?

Hour by hour maybe as it's not exact science and really is only a small part of the work they do. But it's longer range and climate change work is on the money. I Met up with him a few weeks ago and he was updating me on the work around a latest report. It's looking grimmer than ever.

Difficult to say the CC work is right.

The Sun is here but there is a strong gusty wind .
I have just come back from a 6 mile test ride on my new old bike, the Viscount Aero Sport . It went well but I'm trying to compare rides . The tyres are different , 27x1.25 compared with the 23c Rubinos on the other Viscount . Plus the pressures are higher today 80 to 100psi compared with 60ish. Everything worked well, even the suicide brake levers stop!
THis morning I was derusting, oiling and polishing the ally bits. It looks nice and shiny now in the sunshine .
