Sun came out and lulled me into going up to my garden workshop to finalise the modification to my walking poles.
As soon as I got there it started pouring rain again so had to wait for ages to avoid getting soaked once the job was complete.
Tomorrow is the Morvern Highland Games at Lochaline. The site will be getting nicely soggy.
We once went as traders to the first Agricultural Show on the same field. The most memorable thing about that event was when my wife went off to the ladies loo.
It was about the size of a phone box and she said it was self emptying. An Elsan overflowing. Good job she had on wellie boots.
At least the gents was a trench which was filled in at the end of the event.

I was wondering if they could still get Carlsberg as Denmark was occupied at the time ?

I wondered that.

IMDB says: The beer that the crew drank at journey's end in the novel is American Rhinegold. Although it's not actually a German beer, it certainly sounds like one. As the war was still a very fresh memory in many people's heads at the time, the decision was made to go with Danish Carlsberg beer instead. In reality, as Denmark was occupied by the Germans in World War II, they would not have been able to get Carlsberg in Alexandria. More likely, they would have had the local beer.

It's nice of my bank to provide a tank of tropical fish 🐟 🐠 to look at whilst queuing, and wondering why they have six serving hatches but only one member of staff.

Speaking of banks...

The other day Mrs. 66 paid for something for me. I said I'd give her the money. I'm skint this month so I said I'd use our joint Nationwide account, which had a bit of spare cash, to pay her. We tried to set up an online payment from there to her Barclays account, but it proved to be a big faff.

As it happens their branches are directly opposite each other on our High Street, so I said I'd draw the money out I owed her, all £160 of it, and pay it into her Barclays account.

So the next day, I drew the money from the Nationwide ATM, took it to Barclays with her bank details... And was refused. Apparently they won't accept third party cash payments over the counter into a Barclays account anymore.

Now, I work for a bank. If I'd been making regular small payments like this, or a big one off payment, then I'd expect to have that ring alarm bells. But, a single cash payment of £160? WTAF?

"Do you have a Barclays account you can use?", they asked.

"No, because I jibbed you 20 years ago for playing silly buggers about our mortgage application", I replied.

They haven't changed, it seems.
