I have only one spoonful of syrup left in the tin.
Fortunately, I have a new 907g tin of Lyle Golden Syrup for my porridge!

Wind is picking up here and the clouds are moving quickly

in the US we have a town Gloucester & it's pronounced glaa-stah

When I did my theatre studies training in the US, I had to write a full length play which was staged for my final exam and I made the mistake of having a character mention the "Royal Gloucestershire Regiment". I think in the end I wrote it phonetically because the actress was having so much trouble...

Pouring rain when I got up this morning but it seems to have cleared up now.
The prayers of the organisers of the Morvern Highland Games seem to have worked. It must be a bit of a nightmare to get anything organised when the weather is so unpredictable.

Latest news is that a tortoise in Breadalbane St has gone walkabout and everybody please keep a look out for it.
More serious is that the cheese farm cows have also gone foraging and found a nice garden to browse. The garden owner seems unable to get in touch with the farmer without resorting to FB.
It is not uncommon to find them wandering as they seem to be expert escape artists.

Parcels keep being delivered to a number 12. Not for them but they have no idea who they are for as numbered 127 which does not exist but guess no 27. They have no idea who lives there a couple of hundred yards away and must ask on FB for assistance.
Mind you Evri cannot be all bad as it is addressed to 127, Tobermmory,UK and still got here even if wrongly delivered.:notworthy:

It was sunny first thing but rapidly went downhill so the ebike stayed in the shed and in the squeaking (at times) car to Waitrose for the normal mobile app savings and then to Asda for a number of non ebike friendly items - quantum of frozen food, 10 J2O bottles and a box of patchfix; the second dosing of such on the front lawn where the grass seed did not take. Just got that done in a sunny spell before the heavy rain returned.

I find that putting things into alphabetical order creates its own problems. Stars like Elton John, Elvis Presley and Olivia Newton John. Do they come under E and O or J, P, J or N?
CDs by solo artists are filed alphabetically firstly by the artist's surname and then by date of release if they have done multiple records. Groups are also filed alphabetically, but ignoring 'The' where included (The Kills, The Clash, etc) but this does cause problems with "The The".

Good morning from Suffolk where it's yet another dull & overcast day. A short, sharp shower has just passed through and the wind appears to be picking up, so another day of doing very little looks to be in prospect. As long as it doesn't rain again I may get the mower out and cut the grass before having an afternoon of bike chain cleaning and lubing.
