As is mine but the end of the working week as I have tomorrow off. Bad news for me is next week is the first 5 day working week of 2024 but I have the whole of the following week off to recover. Cue the snow and gales lining up.

White Doves, about two dozen of them are regular swooping hither and thither or congregating on neighbours roofs. There's a chap a few houses away that has a business releasing them at various events. Being homing birds they always return to their roost. I've noticed that locally the pigeons and doves are increasingly sheltering under the Solar panels on roofs so I assume it is a learned activity.

We had white doves nesting under ours. The eggs would roll down the tiles and either land on the ground or one of our cars. We have had mess put round them now. The solar panels that is! Too hard to catch the birds!

We'd noticed the bird issue so specified bird protection wnen we had our recent Solr installation.

Um.. postie delivered quietly today - credit card bills. a pointless letter reminding me my washing machine was covered for any repairs (really, so that's why I pay you) and my new driving licence photo card valid for 10 years which having checked is the norm these days. Last one was 20 years.

Talking of birds,
The worlds oldest known breeding bird has yet again return to breading grounds.
She an Albatross called wisdom 1st ringed in 1956 she was already an adult at that time. So she's at least 73 years old.
Remarkable given how bad we treat the natural world.
