Better to take up birdwatching looking for rare visitors.

Funny how often these rare visitors seem to turn up around this time of year.

I think we gave the hour between 1am and 2am a second run.

No, we (effectively) went directly from 01:00 GMT to 02:00 BST so missed an hour. When the clocks go back later in the year is when we have the 25 hour day.

Carruthers is no doubt closing in now, after a change of horses. He'll also want to discuss the merits of cups & saucers over mugs, I'm certain.

What happened to Carruthers and why the change of horses - were the first lot not leaving the correct blend of 'tea' on the road for him to scoop up and put into bags (Assam?) As for cups or mugs - you can wrap your whole hand round a mug so you don't need to find something to do with your pinkie finger leaving it sticking up in the air

Looks like I made the right decision to stay local today. While I had a good 2 1/2 hours out on the bike in a bit of warmth and plenty of sunshine (and a lot of wind in the open areas), it looks like there's just been a constant stream of showers through Brands Hatch this afternoon. Also the 2nd GT race from Oulton Park was affected by wet conditions and was run mostly under safety car.

Also where was everybody - very few cyclists about, fewer walkers than expected and hardly any traffic.

You can't expect a four-in-hand to travel more than about 40 miles a day.

Stayed dull all day but got out for a short walk as my legs are still giving bother and my right knee has a tendency to seize up.
Just one of the penalties for getting old.
As a friend once said " If I had known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself ".
Had a long natter at a garden gate with someone who has garden problems as I have.
Difficult to keep the weeds from taking over. In any case it is still too cold to work outside tho' some are in tee shirts but I still have my winter togs on.

By accident rather than design, I have discovered an easy way to propagate plants.

If I take a cutting from a plant (in a large pot) like a smoke bush, I can put the new cuttings at the edge of the same pot, and they flourish surprisingly well. No faffing around with mini pots and labels.

As today promised dry, I went out for my first decent ride this year. Good weather, although the wind was a bit cool sometimes. Did a fairly respectable 36 miles and got lost a couple of times, but what the hell, that's part of the fun - !
Had a wee banter with a man who, by his 'conversation' was pretty much at odds with everyone and everything in this world. Didn't stay with him long - !

Been a lovely but busy day here once the rain stopped around 7.30 am
Managed to get a couple of jobs done so can't complain too much

Well totally mundane.
I have managed to reprogramme the automatic garage door.
Not only that, I've got all the remote controls working!

I am very happy to have brought this whole thing under control. Just stop other residents from future unnecessary button pushing.
