Had a nice beach walk and ventured much further along the cliffs. I was trying to reach the "hidden" beach further along the bay but I had taken the wrong route and came to a sort of cul de sac whereas I realise I should have kept high and went over the mountain instead of following the coastline. It was nice to see it again though for the first time since before lockdown. (There used to be an easy way into it through fields, known only to the few, but thanks to people sharing it on social media, so many turned up and dropped litter, let dogs run after sheep, left gates open etc, that the farmer barred the easy route).

My first time to attempt that type of hike since before I shattered my ankle, I really feel it on my ankle now as I can walk no problem on level ground but rough, uneven ground is a problem. This is peaty bogland too soon not easy to walk on. I will be back, I will take the right route next time and I will take a walking stick I think, to try and save my ankle going downhill. I think the days when I could walk all over the place on any terrain without a care in the world are gone

Wet morning and most of the afternoon so via car to the big Lidl at Knaresborough to make use of their 25% app voucher on DIY and gardening; garden twine and wood stain acquired, and also to Asda. Spotted another crazy temporary bus stop adjacent a permanent one so as the rain was gentler had a walk to photo it - https://www.cyclechat.net/posts/7175219/
The rain stopped late afternoon and I realised I had overlooked the number of bananas I had, so the ebike had its first evening shopping outing of the year. The roads nicely quite meaning only two stops each way to and from Sainsburys. Four bananas, four yoghurts and a deodorant stick were surprisingly heavy in the rucksack but neverthless the lighter than normal load (no bulging pannier) meant the quickest ascent of showground hill this year.

Sent mine late last night; prices fall today. Keep on taking a screenshot of my ticket on the bus company's app, just 1 of a bundle of 10 day tickets left which they claim to have moved to a new app but have not. The old app was said not to work after the end of the month but is still working this morning.
End of the tax year is more likely.
First are supposed to be putting up their prices this week/weekend.

It's been a warm and surprisingly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard. A bit blustery, but looks like we missed all of the showers that were forecast.

I slept in as I had a bit of a night that involved trotting to and from the little girls' room at regular intervals (oh, don't you LOVE lady issues), then had an early luncheon of two slices of wholemeal toast, one with chicken liver pate, one with a rather fine cheddar cheese, plus a banana, a pear and two :cuppa:

After luncheon, I tootled off to Tesco for a spot of recreational yellow stickering. I thought I was going to come home empty-handed as both the chilled and fruit & veg cabinets were barer than Mother Hubbard's cupboard, but I ended up having a stroke of INSANE luck just by happening to be in the right place at the right time.

As a result, I am now the proud owner of a whole fridge rammed full of assorted whole salamis and chorizos, the majority of which cost me either 50p or 88p each.

Anyways, after a bitsas supper, I am now having a quiet evening.

No better way to start the day than with an oxymoron.

Carruthers is no doubt closing in now, after a change of horses. He'll also want to discuss the merits of cups & saucers over mugs, I'm certain.
Could Caruthers help sourcing a saucer for my white cup?

When I left home to go to the dentist, my car would not start, so I took my wife's car. The dentist did some filling work on the cracked front tooth, then I went to the grocery for YS and stopped by work to say hello to all. Then I went home and jump started my car from my wife's car on the driveway and drove off to the lakes and back to charge up the old battery. First time out on my own in about 7 weeks so glad of the distraction.

Well, more profound exploration of the mundane
Hercules and I have an early appointment at the lbs. I haven't told him, he gets anxious.
He has squeaky brakes. I've tried everything I know.
Also realised we've done about 2k km on this set. No idea about the previous set.

How long (far) should they last? Mixed town and country cycling, but largely flat around here.
