It wasn't planned, but I had a good few hours on the back roads mostly to the south and east of Cambridge this afternoon. While I was having breakfast a little 'you know that ride you'd planned for last Tuesday' thought popped into my head and within 45 minutes I'd made a bottle of drink, loaded a bike into the car, changed into something a little more bike friendly and was on my way. Mostly sunny, warm enough and the southerly wind mostly being to my benefit. A little under 3 hours stopping for quite a few photos and a lovely way to waste away a Monday.

Lightning?

Didn't see any and there was only the one loud clap of thunder, but plenty of rain.

Foolishly believed the weather forecast and the ebike stayed in the shed for a Sainsbury's visit. Doubled up with using the car by going also to Asda
Five oranges are apparently 89p there, receipt says £1.50. Tweeted them.

First day of the working week completed and it was reasonably productive for once!

I did some shopping after work before going to my dance class. Did the dishes when I got back and sowed up a hole in a t-shirt where the stitching was coming apart.

Just listening to music for a bit now. I think it will soon be time to visit the Land of Nod.

Just had a very lovely chat on Messenger with the British Shorthair breeder that I'll be visiting on Saturday. A totally different experience to communicating with the Oriental breeder that messed me around so badly.

I'm going to view two cats, and I'm hoping that one of them will be suitable to fill the vacancy I have for an Assistant SuPURRvisor.

Paws crossed for you.

Are any of our US cohort under the path of the Total Eclipse today? 🤔
😎

I was about 90%. It got darker, and cooler, and Mrs GA and our neighbors were on their back decks looking at it with the approved glasses. I went to the dentist, and had my teeth cleaned during peak of the eclipse. Totality occurred in Carbondale Illinois on both the last eclipse and this one, their paths intersected there. Right now I am celebrating with some prune juice and a filet mignon (YS) with a good dollop of horseradish.

Great photos! I saw a partial eclipse in southern France about twenty five years ago and the two things that really struck me were that the air temperature dropped noticeably and that the birds fell silent. Quite odd really.
