It's only at Great Yorkshire Show time it closers.
It's built on land once part of the show ground parking with the amount of footfall using the show ground access point at the bottom of the store car park. Plus the show traffic both using the main road and the side road up to one of the parking areas and another access point. it's pretty impractical to open. As it's at one end of the show ground it effectively becomes landlocked at show time.
The Yorkshire Agricultural Society owned caravan site opposite the show ground also effectively closers too becoming exhibitors only.

We stayed at the caravan park a couple of times with our motorhome but mostly in hotels.

When (and why) was the dual carriageway at Glenforsa created?
Ta 👍

When it was single track there was a good bridge over the river Forsa. Later when that section from Craignure to Salen was made two way in the mid 1960's it was decided it would be cheaper, since the original bridge was in good condition, to leave it in use for southbound traffic and put in a new single track one for northbound.
This resulted in two sections of one way single traffic.
The humorists immediately coined the name for our only but of dual carriageway. Mull One.

Tree down in the garden, place is trashed so work will be worse.
Extra saws and extra sandwiches... Hi ho hi ho ...it's off to ....

I've just emailed my energy company asking if they can syncronise the bills / export credits. At the moment the bills arrive regulary and itemise complete calendar month usage, while I need to poke them with a sharp stick to receive the export credits which then span random dates.

Good morning from a grey and very windy Suffolk where, just to add to the fun, it's started drizzling. I think that given the weather forecast today will mostly be an indoor day so the bedding will be changed and a bit of general tidying/cleaning done. The first coffee of the day has just been finished and there's a load of washing in the machine which will need to go onto the clothes horse if the drizzle continues.
