@Jenkins - I'm supposed to be commuting to Leeds by bike in that. I won't be if the forecast stays as it is.

I've got an 8 or 9 mile walk from Knaresborough to Harrogate through the Nidd Valley planned for Monday afternoon - hopefully the rain will have passed through by then leaving just the cold & wind.

I enjoyed Oliver. Glad I went. They got a full house which is always good to see.

Minor disaster as the bar staff were unable to open the drawer on the till but they had it fixed at the interval.

Did anyone suggest that if they couldn't take payment, the bar should be free.
If not why not?

There's a Decathlon near the rail station - I'll pop in and buy a pair of tennis rackets to strap to my shoes if it seems likely.

They've temporary changes outside the main entrance. You'll be quicker turning left after Boots, and going out via the old service entrance, now the food hall.

I went to Queen's Road primary school just a marble's throw from the Brudenell Social Club. It's no longer there but the playground railings are still there, opposite the Royal Park pub. Horrible school but I remember playing marbles behind those railings.

If you mean the rail station, then I've given up working out what's going on with the main entrance and just use the Wellington Street one instead, or for Decathlon then it's straight in via the Boar Lane entrance.

That was closed entirely beyond the shops last night. I got out that way, but had to go back in via the entrance on the far side of the Queens Hotel, the old service entrance. Lost/left luggage sales used to be the first shop on the right as you went through the doors. The BTP office* was before the left luggage office, again on the left.

*Now in a corner of the station inside the barriers, to the left of the barriers as you exit the platforms.

Any seals about? Blakeney Point is a good place for Atlantic greys. But I don't know where they go after the pupping season.

I didn't see any, but there's several boats offering trips out, for a tenner, to where they're likely to be wallowing.
