I had an interesting day playing with steam engines, tractors lorries and cars. I love a nice Fordson, especially with a Perkins diesel conversion.

If the engine turns over, check the oil level, bleed fresh diesel through it and give it a go. An extra battery in parallel might be necessary to help it turn over faster and if it still seems reluctant to fire, remove the pipe from the inlet manifold and hold a rolled up burning newspaper into it as a pre-heater.

Make sure you have water in the radiator too. People usually drained them back in the day to prevent frost damage rather than use antifreeze.

And if there's a leak in the radiator, an egg or two should seal it.

Must be a Suffolk thing.

All the farms and livery stables in this part of East Cambs have at least one Rodent Control Officer. In fact, Ely CP has a waiting list for prospective candidates.

Feel free not to tell me, but I'm curious about your barn. It's a completely different construction from the Essex and Suffolk barns I deal with regularly. Whereabouts, roughly, is it, and do you know its age?

I am in SW France , the Lot to be more precise , the barn is entirely stone built and there is a date 1820 over the main entrance. Here you are...

@Reynard that there Kyren Wilson's local snooker club is Barratts (named after the shoe people. It's quite close to my abode. In fact, I rode past it yesterday on my way home from town.
I've played snooker there a few times but am slightly not as good as KW 😂

What's the difference between a power nap and a........you know.........nap?

A power nap only lasts 10 minutes or so and I feel refreshed, whereas a nap lasts longer or shorter but I don't feel as refreshed
