Mine was an early one, It had belonged to my uncle, who wanted one with o/drive, but they took so long he settled for the standard one. From my experience with it, the o/drive was needed on fast roads. I inherited it with 1200 miles on the clock. I tend to keep cars for a long time & it saw me through from impressing my wife to be to fitting child seats (not easy, some drilling required).

Mimosa yellow. Mine was French blue. I think my brother's was Cinnabar Red with overdrive, a late model with waxstat SU carburettors. It was slow! His was written off when an Escort van pulled out in front of him.

It has been nice and sunny here. Warm. I went out for a ride over to my brother's on my Claud Butler. 12 miles.

I'm at Roundhay, Leeds doing grasstrack racing. It's not going well: this is the adult sprint final. I'm not in it.

Addendum: the last couple of races were a bit better. I'm out of practice and yesterday's time trial won't have helped.

Before I went shopping this morning I put the washing on the whirlygig to dry. When I got home an hour later it was ready to be folded up and put away so I did. After a spot of lunch and another mug of coffee I went out again to enjoy the sunshine. There was yet another stop during the ride to top myself up with liquids, although these were slightly stronger than the earlier coffee 🍺🍺

When the doggy dishwasher malfunctions:

We heard a crash but couldn't figure out what it was. I'd just bought her a new tag & it must have got caught in the tray, the split ring was a bit distorted.

It remained dry here despite all the warnings for thunderous downpours. The thunder was pretty close at one point. Power was out in some parts of the town. The atmosphere is really heavy though. A good downpour would clear the air.

I got my heatpump serviced today. Will be interesting to see if it makes any difference to the electric bill.

I've been to my dance class and am just relaxing now.

I'm pondering buying a new case for my phone as this one is so knackered that it's almost an embarrassment. The 'leather' is falling apart and the inside pockets where I could store things like bank notes or cards have holes. Just trying to decide how worthwhile it would be as the phone is about five years old at this point.

I forgot. There's also the Indianapolis 500. For which thankfully, I know there is online radio commentary if I can't find a FTA live feed.

I may go one of these years, the trip is only about three hours each way for me. I have been in town on race day, and it can be a bit of a mess.
