Had a half day today but didn't really get much benefit from it. I renewed my car insurance and got it much cheaper as the broker switched me to a different company but I had to take them all my documents for them to photocopy. Traffic was horrible as it always is in that town. Almost got rear-ended by a huge blacked out drug dealer special Range Rover when I stopped at pedestrian lights which had just turned amber and they seemed displeased with that. I had basically coasted to a stop and hadn't braked suddenly so no idea what the problem was.

I don't get these heavily tinted windows anyway. Are people really so embarrassed of their Range Rover that they feel the need to hide behind tinted glass?

I've had my Friday pie and chips.:hungry:

I repaired my mobile phone case with some sticky-backed vinyl that I had to repair a chair. I did it a few days ago but it hadn't stuck very well so I've now done it contact adhesive which seems perfect. I am now high on Evo-Stik!

Ticket successfully purchased as soon as the online sale opened. Having then done the vacuuming I gave up waiting for the rain to stop, donned the waterproofs and went out shopping. Got home, steam mopped the kitchen floor and then sat down to sort out three lots of hotel bookings for November/December and the rail tickets for August - I can still hear my debit card weeping in my wallet
Fed up with the wind and rain on the bike so I went out for a walk before tea - got caught out by a light shower half way round!

Rumours circulating locally suggest there will be a 'raid' attempt at a daylight clockwise navigation of the Isle of Thanet.

The team have secretly waited at base camp for some time expecting a suitable weather window.
The team's head is quoted as saying "today seems to offer the best chance before the weather breaks."
After minutes of planning and less training the party will launch their attempt later this morning.
For security reasons details are being kept to a minimum.
It's understood the small, dedicated party are making this attempt without a support team. This is a daring move, typical of this group.
They have chosen the less than reliable South Eastern as their logistic support to provide access to the start zone.
Currently Birchington is rumoured to be the launch point.
This type of daring, freestyle approach went out of fashion as more technology became involved in this type of cycle based exploration.
As a concession they have agreed to carry a paper Ordnance Survey map with them.
We cannot confirm if flasks of tea and jam sandwiches will be taken.
Rumours at base camp suggest they may go lightweight and rely on sustenance dumps, known locally as 'spoons, to provision the whole undertaking.
This will give them access to local delicacies in an area renowned as a culinary desert.
Additionally it will provide a chance to meet and study the indigenous, closely related, peoples of this region.
