Not a bad day so far. About 3 miles of walking through the city and along the canal to Castle Marina and back in much welcome sunshine.

Time to head north.

Good morning from a 3rd floor hotel room in Nottingham. It's a lovely sunny morning here, only spoiled by the view which is of the hotels, car parks and traffic along the A6008 Maid Marian Way
Look better these days than when i was at Trent Poly (now NTU) as it had 3 lanes southbound. Hardly anyone used the third lane so I treated it as an unofficial cycle lane as my route required a right turn off it.

A 3 hour one way ride and train back this morning. Enjoyed that.

Tragedy has struck.... ⚡
I thought the local ice cream parlour would be open today but it was shut when I rode there 😭 😭

I managed to get out on my bike this morning. It was nice and sunny with some cloud, there were a few other cyclists out taking advantage of the sunny weather. I did my usual route so I have put another 12 miles on my Orbit Gold Medal. Once at home I decided to fir a rear rack. It came with a steel one originally but I fitted an aluminium one which I had in my garage. I found carrying stuff on my back today a bit painful.

Walked into work and back from the Park and Ride - 36 minutes to get in, so a new fastest time for the 4km distance. The Park-and-Ride bus would be 50 minutes.

And then collected the bike I didn't admit to buying yesterday. It's bigger than the seller described.

Oh, and there's smoke in the kitchen from the dinner that's cooking. Given it's just the cat here and me here I blame the cat.

It's been a cool, breezy and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, but still feel meh. All of today's plans went up in the air after I discovered the carnage left behind by the mouse that Madam Lexi caught recently, left on my bedroom floor and that I then stepped on. Which explains why I am in the middle of deep cleaning one of the storage areas in my kitchen. (Stackable storage trays and bins rather than cupboards.)

The little sh*t had chewed its way into one storage container, ate a bunch of chocolate and a bag of jelly babies, chewed up another container where I keep baking trays and cookware, then made a nest in the box with the waffle iron. Aaaaaaaaaaaargh!

So have been disposing of all external packaging, disinfecting and re-packing things, washing and scrubbing and such. I will clear out and clean the entire area - have done most of it, but ran out of time. Will finish that tomorrow. Hopefully I shan't find any more carnage, but I'm not holding my breath.

I am knackered.
