Got very blustery this afternoon. Postie brought the red brake fluid and later the new shower head support arrived. That was easilly fitted meanwhile the brake bleeding was progressing too slowly for my liking.
Something amiss which I concluded was the Shimano cup screwed into the brake lever housing which was not tightening properly. Resolution was to dispense with that and use a bleed syringe to slowly push the fluid into the system leaving the drain tube from the brake housing dripping to an old milk bottle. New brake pads fitted as well once the plungers had been reset and a far more reactive front brake.

It's been a bright and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, but a touch on the blustery side.

I actually slept quite well - goodness knows I needed it. This morning was spent sorting out Wednesday night's shopping (that wasn't fridgeables). I re-jigged the freezer and managed to get one bread in there, took all the fresh fruit & veg out of its packaging and put them into cardboard storage trays, consigned the packaging. to the recycling, and I re-filled the fruit bowls, which were looking depressingly empty.

Also sorted out my judge's specials for tomorrow. Each little parcel contains a pack of "Bonkers" cat treats, a tin of Gourmet, two toys (a catnip pillow and a boingy spring) and some fudge.

Lovely luncheon of a roast beef sandwich made with tiger bread, plus an apple, a pear and a :cuppa:

Then off into town to put petrol into the car, as I didn't want to be doing it in the morning. Popped into Tesco while I was at it, and yes, early / mid afternoon, there's plenty to be had on YS. The amount off things was variable, but I picked up some smoked chicken, two packs of ham and an Englishman's Foot cheese. So quite happy with that.

Came home. topped up all the firewood bins in the house, and then knocked out the dent in the bonnet with a soft-ended upholstery mallet. There is still one small crease left about the size of a 50p bit, but I need to find a block of wood with a nice straight edge to fit into the area where the bonnet changes shape. One tap in the right place should pop that back out, and then you'd never know it got dented.

I am SO cross with the cyclist. OK, yes, I was making a right turn, that's on me. But he was a "ninja cyclist" - all black, no lights, no reflectives, nothing like that, and he admitted to me that he saw me far too late to stop. That, and the fact that he chose to hit me rather than swing left into the car park to avoid the collision. Which infers that he was cycling far too quickly while negotiating a busy street and not looking where he was going. Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

Anyways, I am sat by the fire enjoying a nice :cuppa:
