WAH interrupted by postie with three leather belts. I actually only wanted a new brown and a new black but adversion to paying for postage when there is a post free option had resulted in a cheap tan second added. Turned out the only mark was on the rear so that was a very good buy.

A cool and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, but my get-up-and-go is still AWOL somewhere. I suspect hayfever may be involved, as my eyes are very itchy and my ears are bunged up. A morning of light chores which included doing some laundry, clearing up some cat sick (thanks Lexi!) and putting the green wheelie bin out for collection tomorrow.

No black bag to put out this week. I've not put a black bag out since mid-December, and only then to give the chaps on the bin lorry their Christmas box, and the one I've got on the go is still nowhere near being full.

Lovely luncheon of wholemeal toast, Polish sausage, fruit and a :cuppa:

The afternoon has been spent writing while keeping an eye on the snooker. Am using material from my archive for this particular section of the current chapter, in particular the article I eventually tracked down to an issue of Auto Express last year. So if a certain someone *does* take umbrage to what I've written, it's based on something that is entirely in the public domain.

Now sat enjoying a :cuppa: and the last slice of marmalade cheesecake.

We keep a few empty breadbags as we tend to split loaves in half to freeze them as we don't use lots of bread so they'll be stale if we leave a whole one out.

I keep a few spare, too. They're great for storing those loaves I buy on YS from the ISB in Tesco that don't come in a plastic bag, but I also use them to fill up with the soft plastics recycling. One bread bag takes a fortnight's worth of soft plastics.

Edited to say that it also includes the cat food pouches.

Near miss Freezer disaster today, thought the outside chest freezer had packed in but luckily only the extenstion lead it connected to has failed. Might be the fuse but not even sure if I have a spare one to change it.

let's hope it's not an electrocuted & petrified mouse in the wall outlet

experimented with a cat harness yesterday
cat chase.jpg

it actually went really well! no chasing was involved, until I encouraged her to chase the leash, while wearing the harness, which she did! all around the house, up her tree & up some stairs!

Evening Aldi trek bought on by more a need to dispose of plastic bags in a recycling bin than the need for shopping beyond bananas. Sun was annoying on the westerly return. Initially it was to the NW but then when further south it was virtually W, then too low, then back up again.
The loose chipped roads appear to have a layer of tar spread over them except on one corner where a 2005 Smart car appears to sit 24/7 and the tar goes nearly around it.
