Currently watching Judd vs Trump as I’m not keen on O’Sullivan.

Oh deary me! We'll be at loggerheads then!

A second and unplanned ride was had today. For some reason I had a sudden desire for bacon rolls for tea and, with neither of the ingredients being in the house, I had to go out shopping again.
When I got home, the bottle of beer that had somehow also appeared in my shopping basket went into the freezer while I had a shower & shave. The deck chair then came out, headphones went on for the radio, Private Eye was removed from the wrapper having been delivered while I was out and I I spent just over an hour in the sun with the cold beer reading and turning a light shade of red.
As a result of all these exertions, a half hour snooze was had before tea - sensibly I went indoors and kipped on the sofa.

The bacon rolls were bloody lovely by the way.

When they thought I would be having the scan, they put in a canula. This had to be taken out before I left. The nurse who put it in, was obvious had plenty of experience. My main problem at present is moderate tummy pain, that is keeping me awake and making me feel queasy.

Most of the time I was in a waiting room with a young lady who was obviously very ill, and therefore, and understandably not talking. The last two hours there was a gentleman and his wife. His wife was a patient. and he was an expert in constructing electric trains. He knew lots about international train timetables, and was very witty on other subjects, which slightly lightened the mood.
I've got used over the years to tests and the waiting around, usually being the only person waiting. Doesn't really bother me much, nor the injections beforehand. Hope the pain eases enough to allow some sleep to be got tonight. You don't want to be woken up whilst they do the scan just so they can continue. Or in my case the snoring was too loud.
And if they give you anything to drink, prior to the scan, make sure they explain exactly what they want you to do. I was the only person in the waiting area when they brought in a 2L jug, no cups, of a white liquid and the instruction to "drink as much as possible". I drank the entire jug full, intended for others who arrived later.

It's odd what you can get talking about in waiting areas, that’s not related to what you're there for. Helps take your mind of things.
We're the trains full size or model trains?

An unbelievably hot day here. Ironically, the air con is turned up so much at work that you'd almost need to wear a coat sitting at your desk. Many people said how cold it was. Hardly a good use of electricity, but I'm not paying the bill.

I had my Wednesday night dance class tonight. It was very hot.

I will take an early night as I have a bit of an early start tomorrow and a longish journey to my appointment with the orthopedic surgeon. A complete waste of time as I can't see how his report will be any different to the last two, but no doubt it will cost me even more money.

His area of expertise was the development of the Pendolino trains, full size ones.

The appointment will be to assess how you're recovering. Possibly to work out an expected date of when you'll be back to how you were before the incident.

The cost of the medicals should just be added to your claim. If you're uncertain, ask, if nothing else but to put your mind at ease.
The two medicals I had, were called for by the other side. Making them liable for the costs.

This will be number five for me. This is the third requested by my solicitor. I've had two requested by the insurance company.

I've probably recovered too well from the point of view of getting compensation. Even one of the surgeons I was sent to by the insurance company expressed surprise that I was walking without crutches. He had been looking at the X-rays from the hospital and thought I'd be using crutches for a a couple of years at least. I didn't tell him I'd been cycle touring!

Hospital conversations are invariably random but I count myself lucky not to have met a train enthusiast. Yet.

You can never recover too well. You, and they, can put your recovery down to the fact that you were active beforehand.
And with that in mind, could their blessings that it's not taking longer. I was back on a bike within the week, which I know damaged my case. But the bike hire whilst mine was sorted out was included. I'd a chance of losing the part-time job I had at the time, if too much time was taken off to recover. And I'd a "manager" only to keen to help me on my way.
