Evening almost empty Co-Op trek. They did have oranges which was the purpose of the trek and also ciabatta rolls even if only white ones. The staff obviously have kept themselves amused by shuffling the location of what chilled goods they have. Quite a cool breeze blowing on the way their and glad I put a jacket on, less so the return into the sun.

Is Woodman's still active?

Yes! Wifey & I ate there after the beach one day last summer!

I contacted a right Richard Head last night about a bike for sale ! I asked if his bike was still for sale? Yes it was. So I asked if I could pop round to see it today as I had been down the pub earlier. He said it might be sold by then. I asked was someone coming round to see it ? He said that someone was popping round later that evening. Why didn't he say that in the first place?

ok but if they didn't buy it ...

Wasabi misadventure.

Previous ones I've ever bought were really weak (even from local Chinese shop). Bought some sushi today, opened a new pack of wasabi (from the same Chinese shop), put a half-teaspoon sized blob of wasabi on the first sushi piece and it all went into my mouth.

Next 10 seconds:
Hmmm, feels stronger than usual wasabi.
Feels ... lava! Very fresh lava in my mouth!!!!
My head started leaking. A month's worth of tears, saliva and snot. Not sure about the ears, kind of hard to monitor them. Krakatoa's worth amount of lava still in my mouth.
All suicidal ideas about swallowing that piece of sushi disappeared into the bin (with sushi).
Loving thoughts about the fire hose - garden hose - oh well, I guess tap water will have to do the job. It did. Landlord won't be happy about the next water bill.

When I was sure I won't spontaneously combust I finished the rest of sushi. With TINIEST drop of that nuclear wasabi. Still burned though.

Wow! Big 30 odd years since I was there. It was pretty rustic back then.

I spent a lot of time in Danvers and all along the coast.

Another evening, another hot chocolate.

Got home this afternoon and just couldn't be bothered cooking anything for tea, so got the bike out and went for a 10 mile ride in the sunshine & warmth just to pick up a pasta salad from the Lidl chiller cabinet. Despite just having had an away day, I've already made plans for a day out on Tuesday (if I wake up in time) and am trying to decide which one of three race meetings I want to go to on Sunday.

It's been a hot, sunny and blustery day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept reasonably well. A choresy morning was had, nothing big, just those little things that always seem to need doing. Also took some pigs-in-blankets out of the freezer.

A lovely luncheon of cheese bread, smoked mackerel, cream cheese, fruit and a :cuppa: was had.

Spent a little time reading in the garden, then off into town to do some errands. A fresh supply of anti-histamines, honey and herbal teas has been acquired, as has two cans of petrol for the mower.

Supper was the last of the cauliflower cheese, pigs-in-blankets and bread & butter.

Parental will be in the doghouse in the morning, as she has discovered (and eaten) my stash of Green & Black's chocolate with Anglesey sea salt. I struggle to find it, so I am rather pissed off.

We had quite a lot of rain this morning. I needed an umbrella and coat when walking to work. Which meant I felt a right twit walking home from work in the blazing sun at 22C carrying a coat and an umbrella!

Car insurance renewal letter has arrived in the post. It is actually less than last year. I also read through the fine print and I am covered for damage to third party property up to the value of €30 million. I wonder what on earth I could crash into that would cost that much.🤔 Ram raid the great pyramids...

Not long back from my dance class. Will have an early night I think.

It was American Mother's Day yesterday, cut her some slack.
