Oh f***ing marvelous, there's some idiot sitting on the road bridge over the rail line at Peterborough so they've cancelled most of the services. Goodness knows when I'll get home

It's been a hot and sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep was middling at best. Spent the morning doing laundry, putting away yesterday's shopping and doing some food-related bitsas. I forgot to mention that the first two tomato plants for this year were acquired yesterday - a mini plum variety called Modus. I usually buy mini plum tomatoes in Tesco as they're so reliable in their flavour. So we shall see.

Had a lovely luncheon of cheese bread, salami, cream cheese, fruit and a :cuppa:

Had planned on doing some bits in the garden, but it was just that bit too hot. I sat outside reading for a bit, but had to come in to cool down, so I spent the afternoon writing instead.

Laundry dried nicely outside. Madam Lexi takes her duties as the Guarder of Reynard's Smalls very seriously indeed. She wouldn't come inside until the clothes horse was taken in, too.

Cat has been fed (Felix AGAIL with tuna), and I am about to feed me.

Plants have been watered.. Hosepipe, sadly, as my butt is as dry as a dry thing!

Having a combi boiler I never have fully dry water butts as I run the initially cold water onto a small bin and then into a water bucket for emptying into the butt. Also helos to stick the bucket in the shower when showering.
Evening Aldi trek for apples.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
The wooden bench I ordered arrived earlier, but in about 1000 pieces in a box, leaving me a 3D jigsaw puzzle to do.

Having failed my health check badly last Friday due to high blood pressure I've two weeks to resolve some of the causal factors before the next check, then monitoring after that if I fail again. Health/fitness/diet is fine so I've pinned it down to a collection of issues building up causing residual stress.

Cue me getting hold of the joiner and having a kitchen fit date plus budget. Thanks @postman but I shouldn't need yours. I'm nicely relieved that's organised.

Also, son no. 1's house purchase has had a hard shove, with the blockage (seller's solicitor) being identified. I want that through before the end of next week as bank of Mum & Dad are the majority financier.

Parental visit tomorrow evening, plus I'm visiting son no. 1 earlier, to help him and check on house repairs following a January flood. Insurance repairers should be getting on with it after a rocket. I'll see tomorrow.

Two other major stress-causal issues will hopefully be resolved soon (hello son no. 2 if you're lurking :hello: ).

Also, a work-related cause looks to be getting themselves fired so that solves that one.

Oh, and I gave my marking a major effort so that's all done very early. Just don't tell my boss :okay:
