Bike and kit are in the van ready for a ride after work

Good morning from Suffolk where the skies are blue, the sun is shining and the breeze is gentle. The first coffee of the day has just been finished.

I'm thinking of going for a morning ride for a change leaving the afternoon free. It's the 'Brighten The Corners' music festival in Ipswich today and tomorrow - I'm not going to any of the main events due to cost, but I may take the train up and have a couple of hours on the Cornhill to see some of the acts on the free 'Introducing' stage and, more importantly, where there will be an Adnams beer truck

This morning I'm in Sheffield for a financial planning meeting (personal, not business) then off to Grantham with my father to choose the replacement carpets for his flood-damaged house. We've a lot of carpet to decide on, but at least it was insured.

Mundane stuff - I'm in a lovely Sheffield café called Caffe Tucci and the raspberry croissant is needed.

I've just had to deconstruct some coffee beans for my coffee #1. But I forgot to empty the grinder so I'm drinking a hybrid of 2 different roasts. I kicked off with a pot of tea.

Today's activities include a doctor's appointment in an hour and a bit, plus a foray to Tesco, who have a 25% off on 6 bottles of wine offer. I'm not very good at researching all these special deals but someone told me about it last night. I think my special deals advisor deserves a bottle as a reward.

Today's 73 plate truck has 256914 kilometres on the odometer and has taken me to Corby, Tamworth, Corby, Tamworth & Corby again.

Debit card is broked. Works fine on contactless, but when asked to put it in a machine, it now won't read the chip. Had this happen before. Pain in the ass as I'll have to link google pay and paypal to the new card when it arrives.

Bed linen has been washed and hung out on the whirly gig
