It's going to be hot in a couple of days - talk of 35C on Sunday - so I'm considering getting out of London. But I'm not in a decisive mood. Leeds, York, Harrogate, Bristol, Cardiff? Or off to the Norfolk coast where it will be 10 degrees cooler....

West of Ireland is wet. Has been wet and looks like it will continue for some time.

In the west, it only rains for fifteen minutes every quarter of an hour.

Today's 71 plate truck has 682005 kilometres on the odometer and has taken me to Hadleigh & then the joys of Felixstowe docks.. A place @Jenkins misses like a hole in the head 😂

I hope you weren't held up too badly by the roadworks on the Orwell Bridge on your way to hell Felixstowe Dock. Just a warning if you or anyone else sent this way again over the next 6-8 weeks, the bridge will be reduced to one lane each way in a contraflow while they replace expansion joints on the westbound carriageway. Expect long delays.

And no, I don't miss the place at all.

As someone who lives near the coast, my instinct is always to head inland due to all the people inland who head to the coast!

That's for sure at the beginning of the weekend or during school holidays. It's not so bad from Sunday night when people with jobs or kids that need to get to school will already have gone back home.

Met office reckons for Harrogate a max of 23 on Saturday, 24 Sunday and 31 Monday.

Round these 'ere parts forecast 27 over the weekend, then 30 on Monday just in time to head back into the office with no a/c
