Sky looking threatening and the met office says rain till 8am. Car to Sainsbury's and a pork pie and salad leaves appropriately dated for Mondays heatwave acquired.
Salad leaves were double app offer, 18p off plus 25p worth of Nectar points so effectively making them 57p.
Also two individual quiches; find them too big so a third cut out of each and now three quiches in the freezer.

Spent a chunk of the afternoon writing. I also washed the Cone of Shame that Lexi got from her Auntie Linda, as Madam barfed all over it last night. Dried the cone in the garden and then I've just finished mending it where it's been looking worse-for-wear. Between the new prototype (which Madam is currently wearing) and this repair, I've figured out what was wrong with the first iteration. (It was also too big and over-engineered). I'll be able to make a spare for me, and one for Linda, to replace the one she gave me.

I've been using upholstery vinyl, which is quick to dry and easy to wipe clean.

Will go out and water everything in a bit. Will also feed the tomatoes and the herb planters.
I can't remember whether you said what Madame Lexi did to deserve the cone of shame

Back home again after a breezy ride home. Very bumpy ferry crossing, thankfully I've never suffered from sea sickness.

I did have a headwind mostly all the way home. About 500 miles completed.

Oh, and in gardening news...

The mouldy Seville orange that I plonked in a pot of compost earlier this year has sprouted! I have four orange seedlings!

I hate throwing food away, but this way, I can have a bit of fun. Need to work out how to care for them now.

We managed to grow 2 trees from one pip which split. We had them for years but according to SWMBO who is in a right mood said they got too big. I can remember the leaves smelled of oranges.

As an experiment, I've just followed some online instructions and have installed Open Office onto a Chromebook. This is what passes for Friday night excitement here in Suffolk.

Cor! You people really know how to live!

Here. I have some paint which I have painted on our old cast iron seat which doesn't seem to be drying and is now giving me hours of endless fun watching it!
