Evening car based shopping which hopefully should see matters through to the otherside of the looming heatwave.
Local Simply Food also did not have any Cheese & Onion rolls but a pork pie and ice buns caused the gift card to expire and I had to pay M&S a bit.
Waitrose had the free paper that was absent yesterday, Asda supplied J20s and Aldi prawns, oranges and apples amongst other items.
I don't know why any bidding entrepreneur hasn't spotted it before but the TdF has a golden opportunity for an ice cream van to follow the peloton. The team's riders could pop back and fort with ice creams or lollies for their riders.
Could be incidents, whilst trying to sought out Gmail on my phone this afternoon the Magnum I was munching partly landed on my T shirt. That then going in soak in a bowl of water. There would probably be a UCI points penalty for an ice cream stained kit.

Day trip to Warrington for cognitive tests for mini ck 1 so whiklst she was in the room doing them me and mrs ck had to hang around in the waiting area for hours so a nap or two might have occurred ;) .Left the house at around 9 am and got back after 6 pm so a full day .
Just fitted roof bars to the car in readiness for holibobs soon .
Last weekend i went to a certain well known retailer of car bits who insisted i needed thule branded kit and i was sure to make impress the need for compatible set for flush rails so as you can imagine i left the store with the wallet a lot lighter ony to get home and find they had sold me a pair that clip onto the door jam and they hadnt given me all the kit , plus the instructions were clear as mud.I duly returned them for a refund ...
Ordered a set of amazon for about a quarter of the thule full kit i would have needed and tbh the quality is so close and the fitting was a doddle .
Tried to get a doctors appointment to see if there is anything more they can do for my knee as its still niggly and doesnt like out of the saddle efforts but there were no available slots at this time on the new online booking system .

It's been a hot and sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well. A gentle morning was had. Main chore was adding extra support to my tomatoes and watering all the planters. I've also spent some time doing the thumbnails for my photo catalogue and I put away the collapsible show pen.

Madam had her first post-op follow up this afternoon. The vet was really pleased with how well she's healing - especially for a cat of her age, and given that it wasn't a trivial surgery. Her leg is coming on well, but her undercarriage is still rather bruised and swollen, but no problems with the incision. I've been instructed to bathe that with some warm saline to keep the area clean, as Madam is sweating a bit where things are a bit lumpy and bumpy still, and where the skin folds in on itself. It will improve as the swelling goes down.

We used the dedicated cat waiting area, as there were quite a few boisterous dogs around, and it was just quieter. Lexi doesn't mind dogs at all, but things did get a bit bouncy and barky.

Have spent the time since I got back reading a bit and doing some writing.

My father had to use steel fence posts to hold his tomato plants up. We had rabbits as well, and so the composted poo went on the tomato garden. Plants were quite tall, and like a forest. Fine tomatoes as well.

I use green hazel withies - long, straight and springy - that I cut from the stand of hazel in my garden.

Tomato feed of choice is "Big Tom", although I'm sure I've got a bucket of chicken sh*t pellets somewhere in the garage...
