My working day is completed
That was a big lumpy stage

Morning rendezvous with the Aircon man at Vanessa's place.
Everything checked out. Her solar panels are blasting away. The batteries are almost bubbling.
Wander back with Hercules and odd jobbing. The pub was closed so temptation resisted.
Cleaned the extractor hood. Hopefully some brownie points in that. Certainly removed a lot of muck from the fan.

It's been an overcast but warm and humid day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, but still tired and stressy. Puttered about doing a few chores this morning, as well as cataloguing some of the remaining photos. Have left the hardest ones to do till last, as I've needed to identify dates and venues. Am reduced to comparing stickers on the car and weather conditions...

Lexi had her check-up at the vet. As expected, she's not been signed off - that bit that didn't heal properly is down to an infected suture. Ruth (the vet) removed it, and flushed the wound out with an iodine solution. Lexi is back on anti-inflamatories and antibiotics. We're trying a different antibiotic this time, as the Synulox made her throw up, and cleaning up bright pink sick (which stains horribly) was getting a bit old.

The lab results are back on the two lumps that were removed. There's good news and bad news here. The bad news is that both lumps were cancerous, albeit two totally different kinds. The one in her groin was indeed a mammary tumour, and it was one of the nasty ones. OTOH the good news is that both have been completely removed. The one on her leg is unlikely to come back, the other may already have spread to her lymph nodes (the vet who did the op did remove the nodes in Lexi's groin), so it's just a case of keeping an eye out.

So we've bought the Lexter time. How much, who knows, as she's already 13. So we take each day one at the time and see what it brings us.

Bit of a hobbling day.
Ebike to the office for a day of management suggesting how to work together better; my usual response of IT for the 21st century will no doubt be ignored.
I hadn't bothered to change from my blue Specialized SPD trainer. For some time bits have been falling out of them and mid morning I got a painful right foot. So most of the day spent either with that shoe on loosely or not at all. The pain noticeably ceased as soon as started cycling home so its a standing weight issue wearing them.
Used the car for an evening visit to Lidl and managed to pick up two bottles of their deluxe Caesar salad dressing on a 15% off app offer.

A lovely day out - 60 miles almost straight up through Suffolk & Norfolk countryside with a tail wind, comfortable temperatures and the right mix of sunshine & cloud cover. Plenty of time for a relaxed lunch & drinks before the train home with the air conditioning being most welcome.

I think it's time for a hot chocolate.

That was fun! I bought some shoes 2nd hand which came with the clip in pedals which came with a bike I bought for a friend. He wouldn't use them so I swapped them over for some pedals off my bike . Not having used clip in shoes and pedals before I was just seeing how the clipper in whilst not on the bike. I couldn't remove the shoe. Ah! I will fit them on my bike and then I will be able to do so.
Good idea at the time but not in reality! I fitted the pedals and wheeled my bike out to the garden where there was a concrete bench which I could rest against. Good in theory! I then tried to put my left foot into the shoe. The crank kept moving around. I couldn't keep the blighter still! I couldn't swing my leg up over the frame as it was supporting me. I was hopping around trying to press my foot into the shoe which was going round and round whilst trying not to fall over. I didn't want to fall and hit my bike against the concrete bench but I was dancing around like a mad thing. I eventually got my foot firmly into the shoe and eventually freed it from the pedal.
I could have got £250 if someone had filmed it!

You need to learn on clip ins and set them up using a stationary bicycle. At least, I found that worked for me. Once I was set up, though, I did not use mine much, because it is difficult for a person of my foot size to unclip, and not hit the spokes. (Size 15 US, 49EU)

Yowsers, that was some football match... Looked like the Lionesses were going home with their tails between their legs after half an hour. And yet, they clawed it back.

That penalty shoot out. You couldn't have made it up...

Oh, a nice little feature on the new Class 99 locos on Look East. They're based in Peterborough, so good chance I'll be seeing them chuntering past Casa Reynard in the not too distant future.

They look so swish, so much nicer than the Class 66.
