Can I just say OUCH. Got the grass cut, had a mug of coffee and then went out on a bike ride hoping it would stay dry (spoiler - it didn't).

Coming home round the top of Ipswich, I was taken out by one of those home help/carers suddenly braking and turning across the bike lane into the front yard of a house without indicating. I've got grazed elbows and knees with the left elbow & right knee being the worst, my left thigh is fairly stiff and I'm expecting quite a bruise, while the front of my right shoulder is cut and very sore (again expecting a good bruise) where I used it to completely take out the car's nearside rear view mirror. No damage to the bike, but the right bar end put quite a scrape into the car's nearside rear wing to go with me taking out the mirror. Still managed to ride the remaining 10 miles home.

Pics may follow if the bruising turns out to be gruesome enough

Duck tape to the rescue, noticed a hole in my rain jacket as I went to stuff into its pocket.
Ebike spent most of ITV4 TdF coverage on charge and then had a visit to Asda for fruit juice and bread for toasting.

But was he “angry” at the time Streetview went past?

Ouch @Jenkins - GWS. I hope they stopped and gave you their details. Injuries can take a few days to show, so it's worth taking photographs even if you don't share them.

Didn't bother with that as I bounced straight up - as well as a 60 year old can do that is. Possibly helped by already being on the brakes (a bruised left index finger is evidence of that) and it being slightly damp so I slid a bit rather than scraped. Just did the usual checks of both legs & both arms pointing in the correct direction and moving as normal, most blood being retained internally and is the bike OK? I will admit to being rather pleased with the damage inflicted on the car which will cost the owner quite a bit to fix for his stupidity.

Bit annoyed looking at the Asda receipt as the yoghurts I bought were 89p dearer than the shelf price
Raised it with them Facebook DM and they wanted a photo of the shelf price.
So car to Asda for the photo, Sainsbury's for the current app offers stocking up on milk to a week into August and a reduced price box of grass patch fix. Yellow label steak pie dated tomorrow now in the freezer along with three triple packs of Magnums from Waitrose. Need to DM now them as the 50p off app voucher on scones did not work.

It's been a mostly grey and rainy day here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not have the best night's sleep (felt cold for some reason). Morning was choresy, which included tidying up yesterday's non-fridgeable shopping. Really pleased with the haul of free range eggs - the big ones will be just the thing for boiled eggs with toast soldiers! :hungry:

Took a large fillet of haddock out of the freezer (bought on YS off the fish counter in Waitrose), which meant I could shoehorn the gammon into the freezer. The latter had still a week to run on the date, so not in danger of developing language skills.

Went to the community orchard this afternoon for a bit of a potter. It was raining, so I had the place to myself. The plums in there are just starting to ripen, so picked some that were well above dog piddlage height. They're not 100 % ripe, so have been spread out in a cardboard tray in the utility room. I shall divert them into a batch of powidła (plum butter), which is absolutely delicious on hot buttered toast, or used to fill cakes and pastries.

Watched the Formula E.

Cooked a fabby supper of breaded haddock (double-dipped & crumbed), triple-cooked beef dripping chips, a tomato salad and home made tartare sauce. That haddock was one of the nicest pieces of fish I've had in a while.

A quiet evening is planned.

I have a bit of a problem with the 3 Musketeers!
I don't know if anyone has noticed it before but there seems to be 4 of them. They also seem to be swordsmen and don't carry muskets.
The Lone Ranger also appears to have a sidekick with him. Perhaps the titles should be amended under the Trades Description Act?
Further to CyberKnight's answer, muskets were their secondary weapon despite the name given to them. In the close combat that followed, they abandoned their muskets, single shot weapons, and relied on the swordsmanship. Their primary weapons they were trained in.

The Lone Ranger had an Indian as a sidekick, so realistically was a lone ranger.

Hope you feel more chipper soon xxx A hot bath and some ibuprofen gel will help loads too. :hugs:

I'm fine thanks - quick shower when I got home more to clean the grazes than anything else, sterile pad on the worst bit (left elbow), compression bandages on the knees has prevented any swelling and I keep moving the right shoulder 'just in case'. Nothing stronger than coffee and a couple of beers needed.
I keep smiling every time I think of the dent/scratch on the wing and a completely destroyed mirror ^_^
How's the bike?
No damage whatsoever except for the scuffed bar end and plug that caused the dent/scratch on the car's wing.
