I was one of the early COVID adopters, long before lockdowns and vaccines. When my sense of taste disappeared the only thing that I found still tasted as it should was orange juice. I've been really partial to orange juice since then - it's like a constant friend.
I was gnawing on the ice cream lollies at 2am to try to cool myself from 39'C body temperature because paracetamol failed to do so. These ice lollies have got orange taste. It took me half of 1st lolly to realize that hey, I can't taste it!
Just have had Kellog's Coco Pops with milk. Zero taste but texture is ok. Also noticed that although I can't taste different drinks, they all have ... different textures I'd say?

That's this evening's hot chocolate made.
I've decided which of the two planned routes I'm going to do on Wednesday, all I need to do now is to decide which of the bikes to do it on...

It's been a warm, mostly sunny and rather blustery day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, but still not feeling great. A choresy morning was had. One of the tasks involved a fainted tomato plant. To prevent future faintage, I've tied it to one of the drain pipes on the side of the house. Also made a batch of apple sauce, and divided up and froze the sausages and black pudding I bought the other day.

Tea and toast for luncheon.

Off to town this afternoon to clear the shopping list. Hadn't intended on yellow stickering in the slightest, but the green bins in Tesco yielded a dented can of black beans, a 2kg bag of Indian yellow lentils (or are they split peas? Never mind, they'll make nice dhal!), and a 5kg sack of Thai jasmine rice. The latter set me back little over a fiver. Also picked up avocadoes and new potatoes on YS. Popped into Waitrose on the way home, and there I picked up a bag with four cheese & herb subs, a pack with four pains au chocolat, a packet of mange tout, a tray with four large cooked chicken thighs in a jerk marinade, and a tray of organic lamb mince.

Had a fun evening watching The Hundred.

Lovely supper of sausages, fried onions, new potatoes, apple sauce and grilled mushrooms. There's a piece of apple & blackberry pie in the kitchen that's got my name on it.

First day of work completed for this week. Usual nonsense.

I went for another twenty miles after work on the single speed. Still quite a headwind. I had a completely idiotic and potentially downright dangerous overtake from a Nissan Qashqai. Left me all the room in the world but drove straight at a car coming the other way, which did an emergency stop and almost got rear ended by the car that was following it a bit too close. Qashqai driven by a woman who was probably around sixty, so definitely old enough to know better. What is wrong with someone who would do something like that? How can you not see an Opel Mokka coming towards you?
