It's been a fairly pleasant if not entirely sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Barely slept thanks to blocked sinus & right ear, which also led to toothache. As a result, I've been feeling pretty rough all day. I have had a quiet day sitting in the Armchair Grandstand, watching the action from the BTCC meeting at Knockhill, and also listening to Man U v Arsenal.

Am mostly unbunged now (did not take my antihistamines today as excess snottage is preferable to undrainable gloop) and toothache has thankfully subsided, but I am now rather headachey and chesty. I suspect I may have picked up a bug while out in town, and will do a covid test in the morning. A bug might also explain the sweaty night I had Friday to Saturday.

In better news, I have been booked to steward at the Supreme - the cat version of Crufts. I was originally in the pool of volunteer stewards waiting to be matched with a judge by the show team, but one judge has had to withdraw, and I've been snapped up by her replacement.

A quiet evening is planned.

Frustrating day here. Club ride (tandem) but once we’d unloaded the bike from the roof and set it up, the Di2 had a hissy fit and wouldn’t talk to me or the mechs. Had to wave the others off and go home in a sulk. Back to the lbc tomorrow

Wonder how many would actually read it before knocking.

An excellent day out at Silverstone. On the way out there was a cycle time trial utilising part of the A14 round Newmarket (course code E2-100C apparently)*. Hot with sunshine & clear blue skies all day, big grids and good racing throughout and, at one point to the south west (possibly around Turweston) an amazing stack or spiral of gliders taking part in some sort of event.

*Edit - I used to see the time trialists a lot a few years ago when I went out this way more often, but this was the first time in a couple of years - I thought they may have been stopped due to risk assessment, but all drivers gave them a very wide berth.

Good morning from a grey and overcast Suffolk where it's damp underfoot after a little bit of light rain overnight and it looks as though there's a little bit of misty drizzle falling at the moment.

Coffee has been had from a fresh pack of something that isn't my usual stuff - I really must check the other two Lidl stores close by to see if they have any. It's recycling bin day, but I didn't bother putting mine out as it's only about 1/3rd full.

Today is the day my gutters get cleaned.
