I was thinking about our little group of riders and of our rides. There is a bit of friction developing in the group. I have been called a Renegade by my friend our leader. I'm quite proud to be called that. I like putting spanners in the works.
What our leader doesn't seem to understand is that not everyone wants to go racing off all the time. I'm quite happy bringing up the rear making sure that they go the right way and don't have mechanical problems.
I fell off twice earlier this year and was pretty miffed that nobody came back to see were I was.
I think I will wind his stop screws so he can't change gear!

Three if us went out for a circular ride yesterday.
Seems we had 3 different routes planned to a common turn around point.
The choice of route was fraught and I sulked and let the other two decide.
They wouldn't use my route. Why must people use Google maps to plan cycling?

Having arrived via the worst route, involved a busy main road, at the turn around together we began our return.

At the first hill we were split. #1, zoomed off. I got to the top and waited for #3.
#1 out of sight, #3 wasn't paying attention when #1 declared the route. So we had no idea which route had been selected.

#2 & #3 set off in the direction of home.
#1 then phones #2 to say they were lost.
In the phone answering #3 left #2 and vanished up the road.
#2 was rude to #1 and said he was making his own way home. Also that #3 had vanished.

#3 reappears so #3 and #2 decide to cycle together and head for home, the start point

Arrive in the vicinity of home and decide to go to pub
Message #1 their intentions who duly arrived at pub

The real problem is, #1 is my wife, #2 is me and #3 is my brother in law.

I understand why I like cycling alone.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's been a mostly sunny, warm & breezy start to the day. Coffee has been had after a good night's sleep and a lie in. It looks like we're going to be bypassed by the rain/showers today so, with nothing to do at all today, I may go out for a gentle pootle later on and see where I end up.

One last train ticket has been purchased which means I now have everything booked and paid for the scheduled away days for the rest of the year.

Back here for a morning session for the first time in a few weeks. SWMBO gave me a bug that's lingered (thanks!) so we'll see how it goes.

A decision's to be made whether I race when track league re-starts and where I race (Derby or Manchester).

Updated: It'll be Derby for a few weeks, then possibly Manchester due to other commitments.
