Evening.
I have just finished connecting up the the brake calipers. Ran the cables through the outers and through the frame. Tomorrow I will remove the crank and check that the BB is tight and then torque up the crank bolts. It's a bit stupid that you can't check the BB is tight without removing the crank.

It's been a warm and eventually sunny day here chez Casa Reynard. And we did have a little bit of rain at one point too.

Slept well and overslept, but still feeling really tired. The morning's main tasks were a) to water all the pots and planters outside, as I didn't get round to it yesterday, and b) turn a large quantity of tomatoes into an equally large quantity of tomato sauce, which included skinning the tomatoes. I'm only picking three or four salad / beef tomatoes a day (I don't have a massive crop this year), but those few fruit each day do add up pretty quickly.

The next major task was to reassemble the mower. I finished servicing the deck (greasing all the links and pivot points) and then reattached the deck to the chassis and the drive belt to its pulley / spindle. Didn't get time to test anything. Will do that tomorrow.

Also did a load of laundry after, which included my grubby gardening / tinkering / dog walking jeans & fleece.

Didn't actually have any luncheon till 5pm. Bolted a cheese sandwich, then hared off to Littleport to pick up mum's prescription before the dispensary shut at 6pm.

After a bit of bum parkage, then it was off to cooking supper. Turned out sausages, triple-cooked chips and carrots & mange tout.

Now sat back watching the Sewing Bee.

Just about to go and make this evening's hot chocolate and make another small hole in the contents of the ice cream tub.

I've also checked my energy account and there's been an excess of £40 of electricity export over total usage & standing charges added which means that when I make the monthly payment at the start of September my account will be nearly £500 in credit. That could mean a nice little treat for myself if I see something I fancy and request a partial refund.

Work done and dusted for this week. I have the rest of the week off.:wahhey:

I have booked a few nights in a hostel in Connemara for a little cycling break. Unfortunately the weather forecast isn't so great and my back is still sore, although better than last night. A forecast of wind and rain and a knackered back. This has the promise of a fantastic cycle tour...I had booked it a few weeks ago when I didn't have a sore back and the weather was sunny!
