It's raining. A lot. Pity I forgot to bring my snorkel.

We have proper rain, misty grey all round, and no wind at all. After an extended period of very reasonable alcohol consumption I went a little further last night so I've given myself a rather foggy head this morning.

I've discovered how to stop a foggy head - The O2 Academy charging £8 for a pint of mediocre beer certainly stops excessive drinking!

Top tea this morning. Sunny and breezy now but it's not forecast to stay like that all day. It's birthday season with the family and this year's theme is trainers. It's touch and go whether JD Sports have the elder granddaughter's in before the end of the day. They're ''picked, packed and despatched'' but these days despatched seems to mean it's been put in the ''to go'' pile not that they're on their way.

Good morning from an 11th floor hotel room in currently sunny Leeds where a large (even for me) breakfast is being allowed to settle before I head out again. Today's view is mostly over rooftops to a construction site on the Kirkstall Road, but I can just see the floodlights of Headingly Stadium if I move round a bit.

I'll be starting the journey home shortly, but first I need to stop at Decathlon near the train station to for a click & collect order placed at the end of last week. Don't know yet if I'll go in to the city centre via the main road or take the longer route by the fiver/canal - it will depend on how long I need to rest.

Sunny start but increasingly cloudy.
Days DIY job done. My cheapo almost self installed kitchen sink from Great Mills (remember them?) came with a chromed plastic cover for the unused tap hole at the front.
Years of it being rested on by a hot pan had made it have a rather distorted surface. Replaced by a new metal one which took far less time to do than it took to find the basin wrench.
Fitting it all those years ago remains in the memory as it it had razor sharp edges which in hindsight might have benefitted from a smoothing with a file.
Needless to say by the time I was trying to tighten the water connections my figures were that badly cut I could not not grip properly.
Rang a plumber who panicked during the call and told me to turn the water supply off. Puzzled I told him their was no leak. He insisted he could hear the water, took me a moment then I realised what he could hear was what was possibly the worlds loudest freezer.

What has happened to the canal - from where I joined the path at the A58 to St. Anne Ings(?) lock it's nothing more than a trickle and from there to to where it goes under the rail line possibly only a couple of feet deep. I never thought I'd say this but Leeds needs more rain.

Click and collect collected, free hot drink code redeemed further in and then some time spent people watching at the station - especially those arriving for a day on the 🍺🍺in fancy dress.
