On the news they keep saying that the jewels will be broken up. It doesn't make sense as they wouldn't get much money for them. They would be more valuable as a Ransome or for a really rich person just to keep for themselves.

We had beef stew and dumplings for tea. It was spoilt though by the additions of chick peas.

Was a very soggy & squelchy day here chez Casa Reynard, although it cleared up at tea time.
Slept well, but am still ridiculously stiff after Saturday. A choresy morning was had. This included measuring up the upstairs windows, and then furkling in the utility room for some woollen fabric. I intend on sewing up some heavy lining for the upstairs curtains, as they are fairly thin, and this will help mitigate those annoying little draughts and help keep the house warmer once the temps start to drop.
Lovely luncheon of crusty bloomer, pate, avocado, an apple and a
Afternoon tasks included doing the prep for supper, then dropping off some bits at a friend's place and picking up the parental's prescription. I had intended going walnutting, but there were too many people lurking in the area, so I didn't.
But on my return home, I swapped the car for Wiggy #2, the Chartes, and pedalled back the way I'd come, because I'd spotted a stack of potatoes in the verge that had fallen off a trailer. Wasn't a place I could safely stop with the car, but I ended up wobbling home with about 15 kilos of maris piper potatoes.
Fabby supper of red lentil & vegetable soup, rigatoni with a tomato, onion, bacon & garlic cream sauce, and apple & quince crumble with custard.
A quiet evening is planned.

Collected son no. 2 from Brampton and drove back.
Sadly the winning bidder on SWMBO's Honda decided they wanted to cancel their bid, then offered half the amount via a message. Reported.
And for @Reynard , who I hope had a good cat day, are these two related? Son no. 1's 'older' cat that he's had for 13 years plus his 'young' cat who's 4 months old and he's had for just 10 days:

I had a lovely day at the Supreme on Saturday, where I handled Snowshoes, LaPerms and Bengals in the morning, and then, with a different judge, Birmans, Norwegian Forest and Somalis in the afternoon. Was also filmed (when doing the Bengal classes) for a David Baddiel documentary that's coming out in January.
Unlikely the cats are related given their ages, but the colour and pattern is pretty common. There's something nicely elegant about a tuxedo cat.
I was offered three cats on Saturday. Turned one down (Birman) on the basis that it's longhaired and not practical, but will be following up the other two. One of them is (realistically) too old at 8 years of age, and the other is in Stafford, which is just too far to travel. But I'm keeping my options open.
