The delivery arrived not long after my earlier message, so on with the overalls and out with the bike cleaning bits. The three bikes fitted with mudguards (which seem to be the only ones in use at the moment for some reason...) were given a full clean, scrape all the muck off of the jockey wheels and derailleur, chain clean and lubrication. Doubtless it will all need doing again soon.

Can I report the local Lions Club lot to the police for disturbing the peace by having some bloke shouting 'Ho Ho Ho' and other rubbish while playing loud 'music' through loudspeakers?

Half-day at work completed and can now try to forget work exists until Monday morning.

It was quite a nice day and that strange orange thing in the sky put in an appearance for a time.

I met a friend for lunch after work. Now home again and relaxing to the Friday night classical concert on the radio. The current musical piece sounds surprisingly like the theme tune to Bullseye.

Smashing, super, great. I could have won a speedboat 🚤

Of couse nothing to do with Tesco opening as to why Asda gave me a £5 off £20 shop voucher. Decided to use their self scan app for the first time to ensure I reached £20. It proved a good idea as fruit juice labelled as £2.48 was in fact £1.87 as the Trolley app had indicated. Just shopping normally I would gave left the fruit juice on the shelf.
Snag came at the self scan till whereby it recorded the £5 off voucher but failed to deduct. An assistant couldn't work out why and the shop was transferred to a proper till but the same result. Turned out an exclusion was third party items which in Asda I was told include magazines, not that there is any indication of them not being sold by them. The Christmas New Year TV guide being the problem. Resolved by adding on a £2.05 deodorant.
Then to Sainsbury's where the current app price for 2 pints of milk is probably pre lock down at 87p. Also 36p off chocolate sponge puds and importantly they actually had them. £2.50 off that shop thanks to accrued Nectar points.

One little note for good news corner is that the energy company credit refund has arrived in my bank account. Once I'm certain nothing else needs doing in the run up to Ch****mas I can start looking for food/drink/other treats for myself. I've got a couple of books & a DVD on a wish list for starters.

I always found trashy magazines in Doctors offices a good distraction, like Cosmo or People magazines, but sometimes pleasantly surprised by Popular Mechanics & some kind of motorsports mag.

I still read Car and Driver, Hemmings, Hot Rod, and the like in the car wash while the patrol vehicles are being cleaned.

it tasted good, due to the guacamole spread, but it had only 1 thin slice of deli turkey! wtf?!

I belonged to Kiwanis, and rang bells for The Salvation Army during Advent. When the downtown areas were still busy. I dressed up to ring bells, as did we all. Wore usual office attire, and a hat. If I knew you, you were not getting past the kettle without chipping in.
