Was woken early by MrsF going to jump in a cold lake with friends, so I got up before 8am. BLT's prepared and consumed, then outside to trim some of the cherry trees behind our house - these have self seeded from one tree, and they don't half grow, so those nearest we keep the height down. Out with my new battery loppers and mini chainsaw. Still hard work, but takes a lot of effort out. The lopper is brilliant and cuts branches upto 45mm thick (and it does).

Repaired one of MrsF's sewing machines. This is a cheap Janome she uses quite a bit, but it's mainly for taking in the car to the craft clubs etc. The two plastic bobbin posts had snapped on top of the machine, so she ordered two stainless steel ones from on-line.

20 million screws later and I got the front off and managed to fit the parts, then reassembled. I didn't have any screws left over !

It's been a bright, mostly sunny, albeit quite chilly day here chez Casa Reynard, thanks to the very stiff south-easterly breeze.

Sleep was ok, but could have been way better. Woke up too early and then overslept. Had the usual choresy morning, but also re-jugged the fridges in the house and utility room. Also kept an eye on the Chelsea v Arsenal game in the WSL.

The postman delivered a mystery package. I have no idea what it is - suspect photos or a programme that someone may have sent me for my collection. There is no return address. I will open it later.

Had a lovely luncheon of a tiger roll with butter & ham, plus an orange, a pear and a :cuppa:

I had planned on doing firewood today, but as the forecast has changed, and it's now looking dry for tomorrow and Monday, I thought sod it. Instead, I'm making apple & mango jam.

Currently sat by the fire for a bit.

Good morning from chilly Suffolk where the sun has made a bit of a hazy appearance. A slow start to the day had been had with coffee and the radio.

It still looks quite damp under wheel out there, so whatever bike I take out for a couple of hours later on will need to be mudguard equipped. At least I don't have to put up with football traffic if I go anywhere near Ipswich today.

Yes, it was chilly but yaha ! the sun was shining. I got a 20 miler in , most I have done for months in one go. The wind did pick up a little to 15 mph making the wind chill feel like 3 degrees.

Slow and steady morning start to the day along with the 1st dry day for days. Meant I felt like a slow and steady walk to town once home shopping sorted. Then a nice long nap followed by a nice :cuppa:or two along with a few packets of mini gingerbread men. Guess it's time for yet more meds and settle down for the evening with a bit of TV before an early night.
