Sod's Law strikes again. A very enjoyable ride to Bury St. Edmunds under grey skies with only hints of blue sky in the distance. It was only once I'd sat down indoors with a pint that the sun came out and it's now almost cloudless out there.

Just about to have pint number two then it's down to the station for the train home.

A sunny day. A lunch time bike outing and late afternoon of committee meetings.
I am not a committee person.

Bugger! Get to the cycle security centre to find a puncture. Managed to postpone the ride half an hour and fix things. Well change the inner tube.
Later inspection reveals that there's a large rupture. The rate of escape of air when I tried to pump it up was a strong clue.
Searched the tyre, no obvious sign or nasty bit of glass or nails.
Then noticed the inner tube, the valve was scarcely attached to the tube.

I keep old inner tubes in a bag in the "one day" box.
Does anyone else?

Around here you can get quite a long way for £3,50. Does require an old codgers card though.

Back home now and feeling very cold. I am sitting in the lounge with the heating turned up and a fleece blanket. I will be taking it very easy over the next few days.

The weather brightened up. Blue sky and sunshine so I thought I had better get my bike out and go for a ride. I passed a parked van which had a sign on the rear doors. " Race dogs in van".

Happy 76th @postman
Actually finished some work matter today but my estimate of 3 turned into 5.15. Popped into the office at lunchtime to sign a leaving card for someone who has left around 4 times previously. Last time was a socially distanced leaving event in a public garden. Then gift card free bananas from M&S

It's been a sunny and surprising mild day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit now the temperatures have dipped somewhat.

Slept like a hibernating bear, and overslept somewhat once again. Got all the chores done PDQ, and then spent the remainder of the morning doing kitchen things.

Then back into the kitchen to finish the prep for tonight's supper. The lamb breast I bought yesterday was divided in two and shoved into the freezer. I now have enough space to put the large quantity of brie I bought over the Christmas into the freezer, with the added bonus that it's had the time to ripen. Firewood bins in the house were also re-stocked.

I am now watching the curling, but will shortly have to pop back into the kitchen to put the oven on to preheat.
