I may have written on here that my last visit to a big supermarket was in 2006.
Today, nearly twenty years later, I was in a big supermarket.

Admittedly I did not venture too far from the door, and was with someone. We bought some chocolate and biscuits and I was shown how to use the self-scan wotsit. This was the new Aldi store in this market town, not a mega big huge ginormous supermarket, but for me that is progress.
It was surprisingly quiet at about 4pm, which helped, and I do not recall any tinny "music" over the tannoy. The aisles are very wide apart, so no one crashed into me with their trolley.
By way of explanation, in 2006 I went into a big supermarket, but the noise, bright lights and people rushing about and bumping into me, seemingly continuously, made me feel very ill.
